I think we all know EJ had limitations when it came to the offense. In year 5 here he still couldn't do pre-snap reads. Still couldn't go through his reads after the snap on a consistent bases, and misses wide open WR's because of this. Hardly ever attacked the middle of the field. Mentioning all this and I still haven't touched base of how horrible his pocket awareness is.
Thanks for the info
I am sure he is painfully aware that it is in his best interest to keep the boosters happy.
It took people with influence to force change on Bobby re: Jeff.
They don't often go that far, but they did that time.
These people who give big money do have influence!
There is a difference between exerting influence when we are 7-6 for 3 out of 4 years and season ticket sales at a 30 year low while an 80 year old coach refuses to leave, vs exerting influence on a championship and BCS team because people don't like to flow of the offense. The latter is beyond ridiculous and cause for concern. Tell a coach the results you expect and hold him accountable to it. Trying to force a quality coach to make certain hires is no bueno.
Spetman was given a one year extension & no raise. If Spetman is here past his contract it is because Barron cannot get the AD he wants to get in here.
Spetman really does not have many duties right now.
IRA was dead on ( and .in agreement with your. Cousin in law) EJ could have been a lot more successful if Jimbo has adjusted the offense to EJ
I hope not. The road where boosters can have that sort of influence on a program is a road we don't want to go down. Any of our feelings on Jimbo aside, having boosters with that kind of influence is not good.
Consider the favor returned. +1
The Future is Now.
I hear you, but so much of what you speak of is a lot of overblown message board fodder. I could attempt to explain a lot of breakdowns on the offensive side of the ball, but to what end? This assertion that Ponder would have taken this team to an undefeated season is just not so, IMO. But, I digress.
That's not necessarily true. He needs to be aware of his constituents feelings.
I would have no problem at all with Jimbo continuing to do what he do if only he would take advantage of our strengths and our opponents weaknesses. Just one example is EJ. Not really a great pocket passer, but athletic and has the ability to create outside of the pocket.
The biggest question is would he? I think most people think he will not and as such, want a play caller.
Not as aware as you would think... That is OK as long as you are perceived as over and not underachieving. Regardless of what any of us think the boosters that matter and the BOT thinks we underachieved. That is why Jimbo constantly quotes stats-it is a defense mechanism.
BTW, the boosters pay for the program. You need to appear that you are at least trying to keep them happy unless you want them to sit on your wallets.
No one is advocating boosters running amok like they used to at Auburn.

He seems to do it in spurts, then it's almost as if he has to prove to himself that he can do more with what he has so he goes away from what works and shoots himself in the foot.
I didn't down vote you, but it's not an earth is round situation. Your assessment is flat wrong, IMO.
BTW, someone DVed me for saying our offense is good even though we just set an FSU record for offense. Out fans are perplexingly dense. Maybe say the offense could be better, but saying it's bad or mediocre is silly nonsense.
The offense is adjusted to EJ, to the point that its ridiculously simple. We don't run a quarter of the plays we did 2 years ago.
Cuth, you and a small, small handful of others on this board are mere outliers. Everyone else seems to get it.
