How have your freshman DL done this season?
Goldman, Edwards, Casher?
I only had a chance to watch the game against UM so I don't know.
Casher redshirted with an injury. Goldman and edwards are getting limited reps
23,000 dolphins are killed every year in Japan. For pest control. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KRD8e20fBo
What kind of injury?
How have they looked in reps?
edwards started slow but has been turning it up the more he plays. he also came in close to 300 and is now down in the 280 range. still looks a little slow off the ball but is very powerful. the last couple games he has been driving tackles backwards and getting some pressure on the qb. finally got his first sack last week. i think he is going to shine next season with a full year of S&C he should be in the 270s and back to form. he still looks a little tentative and is second guessing himself some but thats to be expected of a true freshman. he looks afraid to make mistakes but is starting to flash and the game is slowing down some for him.
goldman looks pretty stout in the middle. hes definately strong and has been mauling guards and getting into the backfield. hes in a loaded rotation but should see alot of PT next year when Dawkins and Mccloud graduate. reminds me of a bigger jernigan. not as quick but very violent and powerful.
FSU Ambassador to the masses
i think casher had the "you got some PT now you are "injured" so you can RS injury". he came in a little knicked up and they got him some early experience and then pulled the plug. in the few instances i saw him he looed really good. looked like a young brandon jenkins with his first step quickness
Limited reps so far, which is good. Typically teams with freshmen getting big time reps don't win much.
Casher came in hurt so he is redshirting after playing some snaps. Very quick off the ball.
Edwards still has weight to lose but is very strong. He will punnish tackles. Slow off ball but with some weight drop will improve.
Goldman has done well in limited snaps. Should improve in the offseason
Goldman is freaking huge
Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or it may last a year. But eventually, it will subside. If i quit, however it will last forever.
Goldman cant get on the field due to depth but when he does he gets better by the week.
Edwards is picking up steam quickly. Had a half sack last week. He had about 15lbs to drop and has it off now. He is going to be excellent.
Casher looked like a dart off the line but will need a redshirt to learn technique and get stronger.
Edwards Jr. is starting to come into his own. Came in overweight but has shed some lb's and has looked okay. Casher looked like a freak coming off the line but he's out for the year now. Goldman is a monster, but he can't get significant PT due to our depth. He's looked very good though.
I know Nile Lawrence-Stample is a redshirt freshman, but that dude is going to be another great DT to suit up in the G&G.
Some other defensive freshman to look out for:
Ronald Darby, Reggie Northrup, PJ Williams, and Terrance Smith
All 3 would be starters at Miami. Both DE's were going to be redshirted until we had injury problems. Goldman will be in the rotation heavily next year.
Per another DT, Goldman has quickest first step on the team. He will be an first rounder if he keeps his head on straight
I agree, regarding future first rounder !
