Honestly, Im at a point where I will see how he gets this team to respond. If 3 losses happen this year he should be fired walking into the locker room. Especially if he calls a game like tonight. Same product different year. No killer instinct when he can put the game in FSU's control.
I agree FSU came some distance after Jimbo took over as HC. But that entire distance appears to have been covered in the first year. With this game, I think many fans will conclude, rightly, that the program has been going sideways for the last two years. It's just not getting better.
This was the year we were supposed to be elite. And all we have is one really nice half of football against a Clemson defense that is one of the worst in football.
This team is very, very talented. But it is only pretty good. An accurate ranking would probably be in the 15-20 range.
So Jimbo was an improvement, but that doesn't mean he's the ultimate answer.
There are 50 coaches who can have the balls to make the calls Jimbo doesnt.
Run, Run, Run, Blocked Punt. That sequence will be how I remember Jimbo Fisher
Unfortunately it won't happen. Our local media has too intimate a relationship with the coach to ask those types of questions, and the national media doesn't care anymore. FSU is old news, everyone just waits for them to choke - they dont care to know why or how.
When a downvoter deserves to be belittled I belittle them. Chris, what do you think of the downvoting mechanism? It seems childish to me but it must help subscriptions because 247 has it as a feature.
The ignore feature I understand and use liberally.

The sooner the better.
You're an idiot.
Or else what? We could easily go 10-2, not win our division and not win the ACC CG.
I can live with that. No sweat off my sack.

I like the ability to cheer a thread with an upvote, but I feel the downvote causes nothing but trouble. To me, use the ignore instead of downvote if you don't care for an individual user.

Scalp 'Em Seminoles!!!
I don't care enough about you to care. I am glad you care so much about me that you watch the clock so you can down vote me. you may want more to do in your life.
I belittle you because your downvotes make it easy to do-It is sport-nothing more-If you were creative at all it would be a little better sport.
No chance. Honestly at this rate we lose to Miami, UF, VT. Miami is bad, but we'll make them look good. UF is just better up front. The environment at VT on a Thursday will = a loss.
I wouldn't be shocked if we lose to BC in another upset. They usually have our number.
We'll lose 4 no doubt. No ACC title. Will Jimbo still be here next season?
If your expecting the AD to do anything before the end of 2014 you must be confused as to what program you cheer for.
I think it is funny so many people downvote TNOLE27. IF more people had his attitude as a fan Jimbo would be forced to hire an OC or his stupid ass would be gone. Bobby wouldn't have raped this program for 10 years either.
I think FSU fans have a pretty weak mentality for the most part. Maybe most of them are old and just don't give a shit. I don't know. So many excuses on this board (and other FSU boards).
Jimbo is not the answer. The only chance he has is to give up playcalling and hire an OC. If Trickett was a man at all he'd resign after htis year and let us move forward, because Jimbo won't get rid of him.
Cmon. You guys get too high after a win and too low after a loss. Im just as pissed as you, but I dont think this team would lose 4 games with this schedule even if we tried to throw games. The schedule is THAT bad. If we lose 4 this year Fisher is gone and rightfully so
Who cares? The point is we are STUCK with Fisher.
I think 4 is possible, but 3 is more likely. I fully expected us to lose one of this game and Miami. And I expect us to lose at least one of UF and VT. And one more unexpected WTF loss seems about right.
Will Jimbo be here next year? I'll be shocked if he is gone. I think he could survive 4, even 5 losses. Honestly, I think he could survive a meltdown to a sub-.500 season, but I don't expect it'll come to that.
Just as I said I'd be shocked if we left the ACC. I was laughed at for that, BTW.

I am as level headed as the next guy, but fans have every right to react however they want after this one
What if we go 8-4 against this schedule? a real USF team may have beaten us last week Duke is not even a gimme because they are about as good as NC st.
Bc really sucks so I think we are safe next week.
FWIW, I think 10-2 or 9-3 and 50/50 that we win the Atlantic. I don't think Clemson will lose again in conference despite their d. 9-3 does Jimbo no favors-probably keeps the status quo.
Sure they do, but the same people saying without a doubt we will now lose 4 games and 100% we wont win the ACC were probably saying without a doubt we would curbstomp NC State and our DLine would rack up the sacks against a traditional offense. Talking in absolutes is just not wise in general and in particular when it comes to college football.
Has anyone been fired for going 9-3? Not saying he shouldn't but I can see our AD being satisfied
I could see Jimbo going to Auburn , Arkansas or
Tennessee. If we have 3 or more losses I could see us waiving or reducing the buyout.
He may conclude he does not have enough commitment here from the school, boosters, etc to succeed. I don't agree but he may reach that conclusion.
I wasn't thinking this year. however, 3-4 losses every year in the current ACC. booster support will dry up in a couple of years. so it could force a change by the adm.
this is all predicated on the assumption that this team will lose at least 2 more times this year and have 3 or more losses next year. That is the risk for a hc watering down your schedule. Losing to a quality team like OU is almost like a mulligan for the coach.
