Strong won't be there long. Once he goes, so does their program. It's a basketball move once again for the ACC, this time disguised as a football one. Gawd I hate the ACC.
They have been decent for a while. Much better than most of the ACC filth. They have some deep pocketed boosters too. They are a better move than either syracuse or pitt IMO.
That seems about right IMO. But what can they really do? It's not like anyone other than Big East people want in. No real football power is sitting there thinking "OH HELLS YEAH, the ACC has an opening for a football school".
Yeah, I notice nobody wondering what the SEC Buyout is... ;)
True Noles aren't afraid to fight the unwinnable fight
Who the heck that is worth a damn is going to go coach there once they are locked into a basketball conf that is almost impossible to win football in? Plus, they have an SEC school in state to deal with. Don't fool yourself, this doesn't do anything to help FSU.
Kragthorpe Era was a hot mess, but they were 82-30 from 1998 to 2006 - when John L. Smith and Bobby Petrino coached 'em.

They had good coaches in CUSA and Big East. ACC is better than both of those, no matter how bad the ACC is.
UL went to 9 straight bowl games between 1998 and 2006 (Orange Bowl Win) under John L Smith and Bobby Petrino and then hired Steve Kragthorpe. 3 forgettable seasons later he was fired.
Strong has taken UL to bowl games his first 2 years and if they can win tomorrow night they will go to a 2nd BCS bowl game. Tom Jurich, UL AD, is dedicated to making UL a football power (would take a while to get to FSU level obviously). With the improved conference foes, UL will very quickly get better recruiting, add to an already substantial fan support and win alot of games. As for Strong, coaches come and go from UL and Tom always seems to make great hires (minus 1) and he isn't afraid to pay a coach. He has said that he'll make Strong the highest paid coach in the country if that's what it takes to keep him.
Don't care about ACC additions - only ACC exodus.
Tell him to get the checkbook ready because the big boy programs will come knocking sooner rather than later.

Louisville is better than maryland. That's all that matters, but hopefully, it is just temporal for us.
QFT (Quoted For Truth)
The SEC's buyout is $0.00 because nobody would ever want to leave. Puts the ACC's $50M and the Big12's GOR in a bit of perspective doesn't it? Instead of building the conference into a place where schools want to stay, the ACC is forced to build a wall so no one can leave.

Any chance that you guys bolt from the conference soon? Unfortunately, VT wont make the first move, so everything kind of hinges on what FSU does.
That night be one of the best statements I have ever seen on here!!
