I've seen some smoke from this.
Wouldn't surprise me at all. Hudson served as Holtz' defensive coordinator at East Carolina.

Figured that's his likely destination since Skip got hired...
The sooner it happens the sooner we can name our new LB/DE coach, right?
Hope so. Hope this has legs. Time for a change.
Front page of Tnation, speculation that makes a lot of sense.
That would suck for Skip to take all the credit for Hudson winning games again lol
GO NOLES! / SCALP EM!
Rhymes with bill, but has nothing to do with money...
I kinda feel for ya, you are losing almost your entire coaching staff, not a bad thing but definitely a bad thing. kinda hard to replace people, especially at this time of year
It's all about the U!
We've done pretty well so far, Hudson has already been replaced. It will be a mutual parting of ways.
In the case of Hudson, its + by -. We will most likely have 4 new coaches on the staff and I feel very good about the first 2 and like the names of other possibilities. Say what you want about Jimbo and his offense but his coaching hires have been spot on since he got here (minus Hudson).
Why would you feel bad for us? We don't. We're all excited about our new hires. They are superb ones. This guy, Hudson, is being more or less let go. A healthy program has coaches leaving for promotions, and that is exactly what is happening. In my opinion, our defense was underwhelming considering the talent. Stoops was too conservative for my liking.

Oh ok, if that's the case then I retract what I initially stated, good stuff...congratulations.
I think our program will strengthen even further, to be honest. Overall, I think our defensive staff will improve; both in recruiting and on the field.
So far we've unequivocally improved our staff. Even with Pruitts growing pains he brings in a defensive style that fits our roster, which Stoops didn't do anymore.
i personally like the changes
if jimbo actually gives up the offense then i love the changes
keeps the program fresh and will keep conference teams/UF on their heels
Stats wise, it's hard to outdo what Stoops accomplished here. But one great deficiency was turnovers. If we didn't go 3 and out on defense, offenses could drive against us, and thats saying something considering the dumpster fire of a schedule we had. There are a lot of gripes with Fisher also, but with the new scheme on defense, and a hopeful concentration on forcing turnovers, it may help Jimbo's play calling because it's a lot easier to call plays on short fields. You are more than likely getting a shorter field creating a turnover than you are forcing a punt.
I think everybody appeciates what Stoops did to turn around our defense and improve the talent on that side of the ball, but I think a shake up on that side of the ball was much needed to take advantage of our athletes on defense.
