vs. Texas A&M, Florida gained 4.72 yards per play and only gained 3 yards per rush. Driskel was sacked EIGHT times and the offense only managed 20 points.
vs. LSU, Florida gained 3.38 yards per play, and once again, only 3 yards per rush. UF turned the ball over twice, Driskel got sacked 5 times and only threw for 61 yards, and the Gators didn't score a point, at home, until late in the 3rd Quarter.
vs. USCe, the Gata only had 2.82 yards per play! And only 1.9 yards per rush. UF was helped by 3 early South Carolina fumbles that all lead to UF TD's. UF scored 21 first half points, all of which were off of turnovers. Florida's scoring drives were: 2, 29, 1, 59, 36, and 44 yards respectively. So only one of UF's scoring drives DIDN'T start in USCe territory.
vs. UGA, UF gained 3.85 yards per play, only 2 yards per rush. UF turned the ball over 6 times, and Driskel got sacked 5 times. UF only scored 9 points, 6 of which were off of turnovers, and two of them didn't even go 10 yards.
I'm starting to feel that we smash UF once again if our offense can stay relatively clean in the turnover department. Jeff Driskel looks like an average QB, and is exponentially worse when under pressure. They have ZERO legit threats at wideout and the running game is no where near as vaunted as Gator fans would lead you to believe. Oh, and the game will be in front of 84,000+ screaming Noles. My confidence about this game just went through the roof!
This is something I've wanted to say, but really didn't think anybody would take it seriously until now. uf is just not #2 in the country good.
T A&M started a freshman QB.
LSU lost 2 of their LBs and then couldn't stop the run.
USC needed more than viagra to get up for that game after the UGA win.
If you can stop their rush, force Driskell into passing, you can win. He's not that good and they don't have anybody to be scared of past Gillespie whats his name. They play inspired football, but that's not always good enough vs good opponents. UGA had the perfect personnel to stop their running game.

I agree that gate O sucks but the fumbling issue we've seen the last 2 weeks has got to be corrected.
Gatas thrive on capatilizing on opponents mistakes. That's what feeds their putrid of fence.
We could and should shut down their O but we have to protect the ball.
I know I'm being Capt Obvious but if we don't turn the ball over we should be able to I force our will on them on Nov 14
Good post..and we have the #2 defense, only behind Bama. Can't wait.
I actually really am impressed with Pease as a play caller for long stretches but Driskell is just NFL Tebow back there. Some posters like a certain hothead from tBB have made fools of themselves saying Driskell is better. Tebow was already carving teams up thru the air as well by this stage.

There's been bad offense played by both teams, at times, this season. FSU has the upperhand, due to the ability to hit an explosive play at any moment. CT will be missed, against VT/UF, imo, in that dept. Also, like offense in the sec, the quality of defense is pretty bad in the ACC.
FSU mailed it in after we went up 20 on USF (very end of 3rd quarter), and at the half vs. NC State (we dominated the first half outside of settling for FG's).
Miami jumped out to an early 10-0 lead thanks to O'Leary pulling a Jordan Reed and fumbling while trying to leap defenders and a shanked punt. After that FSU went on a 33-3 run before garbage time.
It's pretty clear that FSU has the better QB and by far the better receivers. No doubt we get a boost by playing defenses like BC's or Clemson's but let's not pretend that UGA's defense was exactly lighting the world on fire. Even TAMU and South Carolina have had some shaky outings on defense.
Thompson hurts, but it looks like Freeman is finally overcoming his early season daze. So now we've got a great back with extremely fresh legs. Not to mention Wilder and Pryor. If we can stop this fumble habit FSU has suddenly developed, VT and UF should be convincing wins.
If we don't turn the ball over UF does NOT score against us.
The Future is Now.
It will be a good gm.
You know you're reaching when you're bringing up specific halves. Uf's offense sucks ours doesn't. End of story. Saving grace for uf I that their defense is legit and will keep them in each game.
UF will have to rely on their defense and special teams to make that so.
FSU has had two punts blocked this year, a few muffed punts, and like I mentioned earlier, have been sloppy with ball carrying the last 2 games. If we make those mistakes vs. UF it will be a nail biter and UF would have a very good chance at winning.
But that's also not taking into account the mistakes UF's offense can make against a very talented defense in the most hostile atmosphere it will witness this season.
I just know I can't wait for November 24th!
The only advantage UF has against us is special teams. Defense is draw. Offense, well we play it, and they don't.
Against USC- UF only had 29 yds in the first half. Finished the gm with 180-190 yds, while sitting on the ball in the 2nd half.
Against LSU- 47 total yds 1st half, 2nd half 160 rushing yds, including finishing the gm with 25 straight rushes
Against aTm- scoring drives of 75, 37, 67, 62, and ran the clock out on a 49 yd drive.
Until yesterday UF only had 4 turnovers all year long.
I dont expect that to change due to one bad gm. At this point in the season, you are what you are. UF's offense is bad and FSU has had turnover issues.
And you're proud of this? Do you think uf on any of those games because of the offense? Let me answer for you...no you don't.
I believe both teams have 10 turnovers on the year.
But you're right, UF's offense is bad, real bad.
I didnt say anything about being proud.
FSU had mediocre or bad halves, against NCST, USF, and Miami.
Whats so different between those gms and UF's subpar halves against USCe, LSU, aTm, etc?
So let me get this right...
FSU looked lethargic for a qtr, or an entire half against NCSt (0 pts), Miami, and USF etc, but they would turn it around and light up LSU, USCe, and UGA?
Get for real man, lol.
Huh? What I'm saying is that after 8 games if you take a look at UF's offense you walk away unimpressed. They are not very good in that dept. and aren't going to win games with it. On the other hand, while we fell asleep against NCST, FSU's offense is one of the nation's best.
UF sucks in pass protection. Im not arguing UFs offense being powerful, or even average. If UF loses the turnover/field position battle it gets scary very quick.
Im just saying that against the 3 toughest defenses FSU has faced, the highest ranked being USF, the offense wasn't all that.
FSU's offense has looked legit, but they wont be tested until Nov.
Our offense will be tested on Nov. 24th, that's for sure. And your defense will face it's biggest test. Still, it all comes down to your offense. Seriously, unless we turn the ball over I don't see how you score. (Maybe a couplke of field goals, 'cause your PK can kick it from mid-field!) Our defense is EVERY bit as good as USCe, LSU, UGA.
I don't know if I'd call it an issue.
10 offensive turnovers in 7 games vs. FBS teams isn't bad.
In context it's even better.
FSU fumbled the first play of the 2nd Quarter vs. Wake Forest. WF obviously got nothing out of it and FSU responded by hanging 24 points in the quarter.
FSU's only offensive turnover vs. Clemson was pretty much in the Clemson RZ with FSU already up 11. Two plays later Nick Waisome ppicked off Tajh Boyd and Thompson scored on the very next play.
Zero TO's vs. USF.
1 INT vs. NCSU.
BC intercepted a pass only to have Lamarcus Joyner get one right back. Then BC got another INT in garbage time and they were held to a 3 and out.
vs. Miami we fumbled on our own 22 which resulted in a Miami TD. The next fumble was the next drive I think, and our defense forced a TO to get the ball right back.
Then we fumbled one time early against Duke. Our defense forced a 3 and out and we returned the punt for a TD.
We didn't fumble again until we were up 45-7
So off of our 10 TO's, the opposing offenses have only scored twice. Off of the remaining 8 turnovers, our defense forced FIVE 3 and outs, one of which resulted in a PR for a TD, and forced 3 To's of their own.
You seem like a reasonable guy. I have a question: how come when we FSU fans go on the Gator board and make comments we get banned from the site? We, obviosuly, have no problem letting you comment on our board.
FSU's defense, as of today, is probably a little better than UGA's, imo. Rambo/Ogletree are just starting to get back into form.
UF has to force turnovers, not turn it over themselves, and convert third downs. After all of that, they will have to win the 4th qtr.
As for Gatorbait, I dont know, not too much of any back and forth is tolerated on that board. The threads that have quarreling gators get shut down just as fast, lol.
That's no fun.
