Please enlighten me as to how the Gators will score any points sat? The one thing your offense has is Gillislee and he won't be finding ANY holes against our defense. This game is going to be embarrassing to Jorts Nation.

VT's defense is nowhere near UF's.
But, its just my opinion. No harm, no foul.
I'd take Elam and Floyd over Brooks and Dawkins.
Still, as a unit, our defense is better than UF's IMO.
I wasn't comparing the entire unit, just the amount of blitzing, disguising of blitzes and the variety. Budd Foster brought everything at us.
UF's defense is clearly better than VT's. No doubt in my mind.
However, VT's defense has top 20 talent and one of the better defensive minds in college football. They brought the house every snap and our OL had yet to see that kind of blitzing.
Point is, the VT game MIGHT have gone a long way in improving our offense vs. blitz happy defenses. We'll see on Saturday though because I expect Muschamp to try and attack our OL.
That right there is not on par with reality. I can't even proceed beyond this.
I debated about Elam but Brooks and Joyner make a lot of plays (I'm not sure which plays the same position as Elam). I think Elam is asked to do more because UF doesn't have a pass rush where our guys can focus purely on coverage. I'm not trading our DL for anyone haha.
I get it. I respect the hell out of Bud Foster. I think that was a better victory than the Clemson win, actually.
If UF shuts down the FSU run gm, the gm will be close gm. I have no faith in UF's o-line at all to even attempt to predict a w for UF.
The main difference between the 2 teams, imo, is FSU's ability to hit the big play. UF has a grind it out type of offense, without a grind it out type of o-line.
We scored 28 vs VT on the road, even if the gates are 3 TD's better on D than VT, we are 2 TDs better at home so we'll score 21. Doubt uf can without defensive or special teams TD's.
Me thinks not. Your defense is good, no doubt, but FSU's is better. So sorry.
I'd take Joyner over Elam. Elam seems like a loose cannon and a tool. Joyner can do everything Elam can and he isn't a dick about it. I like Brooks. I think he's a good safety, but Elam is better than him IMO.
DL as a whole I'm taking FSU 10 times out of 10. Their DE's aren't in the same universe as Werner and Tank and our DT depth is incredible. Still, I think Floyd would be our best DT and no I would not say that to McCloud's, Dawkins', or Jernigan's face.
The way I see this game...
Florida best chance is to demoralize our offensive line... The faster they get EJ in panic mode, the better... They will follow the blueprint which has worked consistently during Jimbo's tenure as coach....
Whether we win or not will hinge mostly on how Jimbo handles this.... If he coaches like it was unexpected... then we are in trouble... If he comes into this game expecting our OL to fully melt down... we will be much better off....
List of things we need to see him do:
-Avoid running inside handoffs or any type of running play that gives the defense time to get momentum before our players do... (EYE IS YOUR FRIEND)
-Avoid short passes for no yardage, which completely depend on the player picking up yardage after the catch....
-Screen, Screen, Screen... Screens need to be setup perfectly, so they take place slightly further down the field than the line of scrimmage (3-5 yard range pass LOS).... None of them need to start behind the LOS, or they will get blown up.
-Take advantage of the 5-to-10 yard range... this is going to be their soft spot, we need to hit them exactly where NC State was picking us apart in the second half of that game...
-Do not call a play which takes longer than 3-seconds to develop, until they completely stop blitzing.
-Call QB runs several times on the first drive, make EJ get out of the pocket and get hit several times early, so he's not just waking up mid-way through the 2nd quarter.
2nd half of NC State gave us the perfect game-plan with how to handle Florida... Jimbo... please sir... go take what is yours... Please, please, please do not act like you weren't expecting our OL to melt down this game.
The worst thing that can happen is our fans start getting impatient because Jimbo is calling plays which would only work if our offensive line is much better than it is.... Even if he only calls 1 out of 3 plays, where the QB is designed to hold the ball for longer than 3-seconds... he's killing the drive....It's just not worth the risk, assume our line is toast and proceed. Please don't play-call like we are playing Maryland/Duke/Boston College....

I think Brooks not being a loose cannon is part of what makes him good. He is the safety valve that prevents a lot of big plays. I haven't watched enough of Floyd specifically to compare him to our guys.
Agreed to that.
I think UF's D>FSU's O, but I also think FSU has the ability, with our skill players and our OL on a good day, to flip that around.
I think FSU's D>>>UF's O, and I think the only way that changes is if FSU's offense and/or special teams collapse, giving UF's offense great field position and the TOP battle.
If FSU's offense can take care of the ball while actually moving it somewhere (a.k.a. last year with first downs) I think this game gets out of hand.
Both are great D's I see a low scoring affair.
Also i think he meant to say that if we get up and you are forced to pass and become one dimensinal you are doomed. I thikn that is true, if we did get up by 10 - 14 early neither of your QB's are good enough to win the game with out the threat of a running game.
If I'm not watching FSU I'm watching UF. Grew up around nothing but Gators and I was educating some of their fans about their team the last time I went to the Swamp. I think Floyd might be a 1st round draft pick this offseason.
great point about the 2nd half adjustmenst -
