Our offense was not better than any of those teams except for maybe UF. And they started a true sophomore at QB.
Total coach speak. No way I can imagine Jimbo feels this way after getting slapped around at home by his best friend and our biggest rival.
You might wanna look at the stats. It was better than all of them... You obviously don't know what you're talking about...
Please look at opponent adjusted stats, and you will find differently.
Don't need to look at opponent adjusted stats. We play who we play. Everybody had soft games. With that being said, go look at websites that keep track of the stats and you will find that FSU was ahead of all of them..
The fact that you don't feel the need to look at opponent adjusted data pretty much erases any credibility you started out with in your ridiculous claims.
FWIW, look at the FEI and S&P for offenses in 2012. Nearly every team you mentioned is ranked higher than FSU, who had an offensive FEI ranking in the mid-50's.
With the talent on the offensive side of the ball, that is highly underwhelming.
Is this for real? So you don't care that our offense is crap vs. any opponents we play with real defenses?
Nothing wrong with being honest and saying something like, "There's always some disappointment when you aren't playing for it all at the end but we won our conference and are playing in the Orange Bowl. We've had a very successful season and have a lot to be proud of."
But "I'm not disappointed at all" is complete BS. His rhetoric is wearing thin on me.

If this is how you feel, you didn't read the whole interview.
WE are not that close to where we need to be. We need to show up on the road every game. We need to be able to play physically with anyone.
We need consistent offensive playcalling and consistent ol play.
This year was a baby step forward. We have only one inexplicable loss. That is progress. an acc title is progress. If we lose to NIU then the season is a failure.
The following is the full quote which I think is pretty hard to have an issue with.
“I’m not disappointed at all. I think we’ve had a tremendous season. Am I satisfied? No. I’m not satisfied because we want to win a national championship, but I’m very happy with where our program’s going and the way we’re recruiting and the way we’re playing."
This. Don't just pick and choose parts of his quote original poster.
He also said he isn't satisfied because he wants to win a national championship.
Context is your friend.
Alabama 2011 says this is incorrect. You don't have to win your conference first to win a national title.
Things don't happen, necessarily, in a neat, step by step process.
This would actually be the 3rd time we could win 12 games (93: 12-1, 99: 12-0) but it'll take 14 games and the easiest schedule in my lifetime to do it. It certainly doesn't suck but "winning 12 games" is a bit hollow when everyone here knows how terrible we looked too often this year.
I credit Fisher a ton for upgrading the talent level here, and modernizing the program (which most coaches born after WWII would do so it's not a novel concept). But I have yet to see him "coach 'em up" in any way, shape or form the last 2 years.
Jimbo is a recruiter, not a xs and os type coach. Sorta like Ron zook.
We have an AWESOME fan base. Some people are clamoring that Jimbo is too much into the X's and O's, far too involved in the game planning for both the offense and the defense, and then you come here and say that he's the opposite. Funny stuff.
You're using the wrong Alabama team as an example. You need to use their team from 09 I think it was that beat Texas. The year before they lost the SEC championship game to Florida.
And our '99 schedule was very similar to this year's schedule. Miami was down like they are now, only then they were on their way back, unlike the current Miami team. Our only game where you could go in really expect a battle was at Gainesville. Difference that year? Our QB was Weinke.
11-2 and a conference championship is a very big improvement over last year. And we did it without Reid and Jenkins for the whole year and lost Thompson and Carradine as well (think missing Carradine didn't hurt in the fourth quarter against uf?). How many teams could lose 4 of their 5 best players and still win 11-12 games? Not very many.
Unlike Jimbo, I am disappointed. Because we had the team and the schedule to make a run this year. But hopefully he's learned and will grow from his mistakes (NCST) and we'll catch a few more breaks next season.
Who the heck has ever accused Jimbo of being too much of a Xs and Os guy?
I agree completely. Jimbo has yet to get "elite" results with "elite" talent. Please point out an example if you disagree.
