Nov. 1997 was the last time Boston College was that big of an underdog.

Jimbo will make sure BC covers that.
you are absolutely right
BC has given up 200+ yards of rushing to everyone and their mother.
Then again - this will be BC's Super Bowl
I don't think Jimbo has covered this season. I would take the points.
So we will probably only rush the ball 4 times in the first half.
And rush 3 lineman the entire second half..
This is actually true. I'm ashamed to say I took the opponents' points in each week of my betting pool, but won each time.
I think Fisher realized that after Saturday, you can't sit on leads. You can bring up Wake and UVA last year, but FSU already had 2 and 3 losses when they played those teams. FSU wasn't #3 nationally and looking to come home 6-0. I think last week was a big learning curve for him (hope so anyways). I think our offense opens up for the rest of the year.
believe it when I see it
That spread is crazy. This game will go down to the wire.

I can't imagine you'll see a major philosophical change in one week. It's not who we are, because it's not who our head coach is.
I think Jimbo believes it's "underdog ball" to adjust when the other team finds a way to stifle what you do. If they stack the box and stop your run, it's underdogs who go 5-wide. If they are getting to you with the blitz, it's underdogs who go to max-protect.
Real teams, I believe he thinks, continue to do what they do until it works.
Put another way, I think Jimbo is committed to the idea that if we're better than them, and yet they're stopping us, there is only one explanation: we aren't executing well enough. Therefore, there's only one solution: start executing better. That's the only adjustment you ever need. And that's why failed plays irritate him so much, why he berates E J on the sidelines, even though his playcalling is making E J's task maximally difficult.
Adjusting strategy to try to make it easier on yourself is underdog ball, and real teams don't do that.
We'll see, I disagree. Fisher knows what needs to be done and it's as simple as play-calling adjustments.
That would be awesome if you're right.
I agree. I just don't see a 3rd year head coach being "stuck in his ways".

We covered against Wake Forest. The spread was 28 and we killed them.
Maybe THIS week is when our players and coaches see that EVERY team we play has us marked on their schedule. We get the very best from EVERY team we play. There are no cupcakes.
This season is not over. There are plenty of teams that can lose ahead of us and plenty of football we can still win. When LSU lost to Bama last year, they thought their season was over too.............
IT IS NOT OVER. We have to correct mistakes and move forward.
Did you watch that press conference? Things aren't going to get better they're going to get worse.
