FSU checks in at No. 16.
Coaches have shuffled, players have declared, and recruits have pledged. It's time to take a second look at the 2013 Top 25.

accurate ranking for FSU, IMO.
I really hope we aren't overhyped this year so this is a good start
Where is USCw? I would expect them to be in the mix especially with Barkley coming back.
I'm okay with us at 16.
yet the Gates lost most of their team and are 7
I like us at no. 16. I think the hype hurt us the past two years.
The Future is Now.
All the more reason to beat them and call them overhyped come the end of the season.
Very often they leave them somewhere where they finished the previous year. A lot of media have the mentality that until you show something different on the field, you are thought of as your most recent performance. I know UF was obliterated in the Sugar but they went 11-1 in regular season and in the SEC. They always forget the breaks teams get. I think '13 UF will be the Michigan of '12. They will cite a returning Qb and another year for him to grow in that offense? Sound familiar to Dennard? He is a much more offensive threat that Driskell. They lost most of the studs on D and they promoted from within a new DC. Their schedule sets up nice as they avoid TAM but get Arky. They also have a rare OOC on the road against a team not named FSU. I know its only Miami, but that early in the season UF has struggled against MAC teams the last few years.
I'd have us slightly higher. Maybe 13-14. FWIW I think we blow the doors off Texas if we played last season. They had an '09 FSU style defense.
Cant believe texas is that high
Barkley is a senior, so... yeah.
FSU will dominate Clemson on both lines of scrimmage again. They also lose key skill players from an offense heavily dependent on them. Their defense has a poor DL and poor secondary.
I don't disagree with the ranking, but I still think we're going to blow the doors off Clemson.
Really interested to see how Pruitt and the new staff handle this one. Hate that offense and its at Clemson.
Me too. I really don't get why a lot of fans are just conceding that game. Clemson's good, and Death Valley has been a thorn in our side, but our offense enforced their will on them, and a lot of their points came from gimmicks.
Wow, check the ACC's future team Louisville at 8.
Hope we are around here and can finish in Top 10. Would give us some good momentum going forward to 2014.
"No. 10 outside linebacker Matthew Thomas".... I hope that is a typo and not his opinion.
Pre season rankings don't mean a thaaaang. I mean can you really say that other than 1 OL and EJ that we are really all that much worse than last year? Plus, nobody could say that that OL was going to go pro. They are based off how the previous year ended. We are a top 10 team talent wise and it's about F-N time we showed it. While I've not be a big advocate for playing Thursday night games, I almost hope we play Clemson on the road to showcase us. While that's not the kind of game you really want to play, it's the kind of game FSU needs to win in front of everybody.
In terms of sheer roster talent, we have to be top 5 in the country. Ergo, IMO our ceiling is basically determined by our coaching. In other words, for the most part our record at the end of the season will reflect the quality of our coaches. It's notable here that the new coaching staff has much more actual coaching experience than the former staff, so IMO it's reasonable to expect better coaching starting in 2013+
