Listening to The Herd this morning and Sal Paolantonio mentioned this. He simply thinks for Chip to run his offense successfully in Philly, he needs to move Foles and acquire a running QB. He then said "maybe EJ Manuel"...
Personally, I think Chip could bring out the best of EJ. What do you guys think of EJ and Chip Kelly together in NFL?
I hope not. I hate the Eagles! Although I wish EJ all the success and hope he goes in the 1st
GO NOLES! / SCALP EM!
EJ is too scared to run in college, doubt he'll run in the league.
He's also the worst ever at the read option. Defenses know he won't keep the ball.

I keep hearing the rumors EJ "refused to run" in college with the inference that he wanted to develop NFL pocket passing skills. I find it ironic that his running skills might have been the thing that he should have focused on more for his NFL resume.
I heard the same thing with regards to EJ not wanting to run because he wanted to be known as a pocket passer. Not sure if true, but if it is, you can't blame him for trying to shake that "running QB" tag before the NFL started having huge success with RGIII, Wilson, and Kapernick. The NFL is still driven by pocket passers like Rodgers, Brady, Flacco, and the Manning brothers, but athletic QBs look like they're here to stay as long as they can stay healthy.
I do think EJ could have success running the uptempo offense that Kelly likes, but he needs to learn how to not take big hits. When he was called upon to run uptempo at FSU he excelled, so it wouldn't surprise me if Philly took him in the second round (if he falls there). Their first round pick needs to be dedicated to OL help though, because no QB can be successful with the line they trotted on the field last year.
Have u seen EJ run the zine read? Yikes.
Not guilty y'all got to feel me
Vick is staying so we don't need a starter right away. I hope EJ is successful in the NFL, but I don't want him in Philly. He's already given me enough heart problems as it is. It wasn't rumors that he didn't want to run last year, he said it himself. He has the physical ability to be great, but his lack of interest in helping his team with his legs "probably his best attribute" raises some concerns.
Philly taking EJ would make sense if they can get him after the 2nd round
Vick is not the long term answer and every new head coach wants their guy
E.J. can make the throws that would be required in Kelly's offense, I think an up-tempo style suits his temperament, and he obviously has the mobility to be a threat on the ground IF he's willing to regularly absorb contact at the NFL level. Based on his last two seasons here, I'm not convinced he is. But then again, that might have been because he wanted to preserve his health for the league...
Dennis Dixon will be the Eagles starting QB by week 6 or 7 and he's still young. I don't see EJ beating out a Chip Kelly guy. But drafting him would make it easy to get rid of Vick at the end of the season.
