This is the worst case scenario. How could anyone get excited for this game? This is a team we play in week 2, not a BCS bowl....sigh
Not guilty y'all got to feel me
If we go out there and do our business and come out with a W I think it's a very forgettable bowl. Nevertheless I'm still excited to be back in a BCS bowl.
Three W's In My Life: Ward, Weinke, and Winston
Not at all excited. Lose-lose situation for us
How is an easy BCS win a lose?
I see the "if we lost its awful if we win we were supposed to" thing, but that's kind of dumb.
If we win we are BCS Champs of the OB and we have a gimmy game to get there...call me crazy but that's not that bad lol
Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or it may last a year. But eventually, it will subside. If i quit, however it will last forever.
Maybe, if that's slang for a piece of paraphernalia.
I'm very interested. We haven't won a BCS bowl game since the 1999 season, if my memory serves.
While we don't have much to gain, I am still not convinced we are so good that this is an automatic victory. Sure, on paper, we should destroy this team. That said, our DC is gone and our DE coach is gone with him. Who is going to create some sort of plan in this game with only 2 defensive coaches. It would be against the grain for new defensive assistants to coach for the Orange Bowl. On top of that we have an offense that handicapped because of the QB and the fact that we don't know how to hold on to the football. We have a terrible turnover margin, and miraculously enough, it is because we fumble the ball 4 times per game in our last 5 games. Then we have a QB that makes the bad moves at the worst times. I like EJ, always have, but he doesn't know when to scramble, can't complete a pass when he is blitzed, and takes a ton of sacks that are not on the OL. You add all of that up on top of NIU getting ready to play in a game that they would saw off their own legs to win, and the media telling them they shouldn't be in the game and that FSU is going to smack them around and it is the perfect storm of how an upset happens.
This offense can't consistently control a game unless it is up by so many points that the other team gives up. How surprised would you be if we went long stretches without scoring? I mean, everyone says we will kill them, but I watch us play and don't see how we score that much. Defense could be a mystery as well. I am expecting our patented 4 turnover game.
"Some people think football is a matter of life and death, I assure you, it is much more serious than that."
Very Excited to play in a BCS bowl in Miami. Great exposure.
This /\. Recruiting opportunity for visits and contacts in an area of talent, right in our own backyard so to speak. Perhaps some of our players will get a chance to go home for a day or so. We can't control WHO we play, just HOW we play.
Would you rather play a team with the ability to steam-roll us? It's been 14 years since we won a BCS game. It took an interception by LOS to win the ACC. Imagine a matchup with Oregon, KSU, Stanford etc. We're not very good and coaches are leaving.

No interest in NIU, but I'll get to see my team play one more time this season which is cool with me. Nothing more to add really.
The matchup sucks, but as others have said, we can't control who we play, plus we haven't been lighting people up, so I'd be ok getting the bcs win and taking the next step. Who anyone have been much more excited for Louisville or kent st or rutgers?
I believe the payout is 17 million per team. We haven't seen that kind of payout in a decade. This makes the trip well worth the effort.

will watch on TV.
more interested on who will be handling the defensive play calling, I assume Hudson.
I can't believe how bitchmade our fanbase has become. Oooooh....we're down a coach or two against mighty NIU. Good thing the coaches aren't playing, I guess.
I'm pumped to be back in a BCS game. I'm pumped we won the ACC. I'm pumped we may finish 12-2 and a top 10 team.
We got a lot to work on, but we've got A LOT to work with. The future is bright. Tons of talent and our coach is hopefully learning from this season.
Stop being defeatist limp wrists and enjoy the last game of the year. Sans the spring game this is it for 8 long sucky months.
This "David vs Goliath" match-up is much more intriguing than the alternative (Louisville).
Everyone is complaining about this, but I bet we get a big TV ratings number because everyone will tune in to see if Northern Illinois can beat us.
I'm very excited! I can't believe how arrogant our fan base has become and based on what? History that's over a decade old!
Remember Penn State being upset that they were playing lowly FSU in 2005? It took triple overtime to decide that one. I'm sure NIU is loving everyone thinking they aren't worthy to wipe our shoes - serving our fans a bunch of humble pie is high on their agenda.
Respect the opponent, respect the game and give some respect to our team. I'm pretty sure they think this is a game worth playing and so should you.
I believe that is split 13 ways within the conference and is done every year. Had Clemson made the BCS we would have made more than usual.
That money is split up to confernce members. Hopefully we sell out our ticket allotment. Teams have lost money going to bowls in the past. Hopefully the relative proximity of Miami will aid our ticket sales.
I admit to being in a negative mood recently due to our performance on the field. But I would still like to play an interesting matchup in the game, rather than a likely win. Jmo. I have a feeling we will play down to the comp in this game and keep it interesting. 30- 17 win
east, is it a "likely win" or will NIU "keep it interesting"??? You seem confused.
And your avatars suck....
I'm very interested in the game. It's beyond me that any FSU fan wouldn't be.
If you don't have any interest in this game then I doubt you are a FSU fan, that's all.
I think its both. I thimk it would very unlikely for us to lose, but I dont think we run away with the game like we should. Just a gut feeling.
Yes the avatars do suck. Lost a bet on the blue board for the Uf game. Gotta rep the sig until signing day
