Based on his spring game performance?
If not, what does your front four look like? (this is assuming everyone is healthy in time to play Pitt)
Don't think he'll be the "starter" but he'll get the reps that Jernigan got last year.
Edwards McAllister/Goldman Jernigan ???
Jernigan and DMac this year, Goldman and NLS next year. Plus Derrick Mitchell had a nice spring from reports. We have a good problem.
He'll definitely get in the primary rotation.
The reason why I don't want to switch to a base 3-4 for a few years. We have so many talented DTs that I want to see in action.
16, I'm with you on switching to a 3-4. DL is strength of the team. I'm all about being multiple and I want to see 3-4 wrinkles, but put your best players on the field.
NLS got credited for the sacks yesterday and he played an excellent game, but I think Jmac should have been credited with one or two of them and was great himself, along with Goldman.
If anyone was scouting that game yesterday they would come away and say that "FSU is really talented at DT" not knowing we were missing our starters and the best football player on our team.
As for reps at DT, it's going to be a war. We have 5 great ones and Mitchell could be there by the end of the season. Shanks has ability too, I just think it will appear in '14.
The 3-4 talk is related to our lack of explosive pass rushers at DE and it will force us to use more lb blitzes to get to the QB. Plus several DT can play 5 Tech.
