With Clint Trickett's departure, is it Jameis Winston's job with no competition to ensue during the preseason? Or do you believe Jacob Coker will have a say in things leading up to Pitt?

it was done saturday
It's the famous Jameis era now. Coker is only one injury away from starting though. And Jameis is (IMO) good enough to be a 3-year player if things unfold the right way. Looks like Trent Dilfer was right about him at the Elite 11 going into his senior season.
It was over after his 1st pass Saturday....
I believe it was over right after the Orange bowl. Jimbo knew he couldn't keep Jameis off the field. Jaboo era is here!!
I also believe it is over. Not convinced Jimbo signals it is over quite yet though.
Coker will do well as a backup and maybe get a season as starter before he goes to the NFL.
Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or it may last a year. But eventually, it will subside. If i quit, however it will last forever.
It's over, Jimbo won't name a starter until later in fall camp
It's over! Winston is just special. He is going to bring excitment to FSU football. I think he will have a similiar impact to Johnny Football last year. These recruits are gonna wanna play with him by the end of the year (leave space open at wide reciever). I dont think Jimbo will name a starter until the fall but as a player you know who your better then and who your not better then.
I think it is but Jimbo will never say until the week before Pitt IMO. He will make Winston and Coker battle it out this fall
"A Seminole warrior killed in battle is a legend remembered. A Gator lost in battle becomes a pair of boots and a belt. "
The elephant in the room here is how long do we hold on to Coker? I'm hoping he stays at FSU...i'm hoping McGuire does too...but i'm not confident in keeping both.
I would never be one to say that losing a quality QB and great person in Trickett is a 'good' thing...but at this point, it's the best case in what appeared to be an inevitable certainty.

If Jameis had even a hint of a self destruct button at all I'd say no. There's just nothing negative he'll do between now and September 1st.
Winston is the man... and will lead this team to the ???? I will let ya'll fill in the ? marks.
Also agree with this poster comments about how recruits will want to play with Winston.
He has the IT factor... enough said.
Yep, bring a recruit in and set him up with starting QB Winston for the weekend, and that kid has got something to think about. With Winston getting at least the possibility to start for 4 years, he can tell recruits "come catch passes, come block for me, etc", and there is enough time for the recruit to really take him seriously.
Most of us haven't seen a healthy Coker yet this year. I think their skill sets are close but Winston just has something about him. Appears to be a natural leader.
But I'm not going to hand it over to him yet. At least give a healthy Coker a shot.
