I agree with his reasoning and hope his conclusion is right.
I didn't even think about how much money FSU spent recruiting him! Yea, no way they just cut bait.
valid points, wonder how far Thomas takes it if Jimbo doesn't blink.
Dude always nails it....CL is one of the best in business
Corey summed it up perfectly. I still see this kid playing for us this season but if not he will be sitting out.
I doubt he even takes it one step further.
He hit most of the points many posters here did. Especially about UGA being window dressing. Which would point to some sort of misdeed by the SC staff, imo.
I have a feeling lane kiffin and staff continued to call Matthew after he signed. Which against NCAA rules, but kiffin could care less about the rules.
See Link. If kid is already taking this to Miami Herald, he's proven he is willing to fight this out in press.
May not be same situation, but it will be a bigger story because it's football and FSU...
ESPN isn't looking for fair...they dont care whose right. They want to pull emotions and stir the pot...
Ask Rutgers coach/AD and the pac12 ref how effective their echo chamber is at changing national perception on these issues.... ESPN has changed policy numerous times before
/Gah.. can't link on mobile. Search Bo Ryan cowherd on Google and listen to the YouTube video

Great article. I agree with everything CL said.
"I never knew I had a foot until I noticed it was on your neck"
The kid had how long again to come up with his choice of schools? I'm guessing like 4 years or whenever he got his first offer? The whole thing is just silly. I'd be more sympathetic if the kid was a 3 star kid who might only be needed for depth until his senior year. That however, is not the case with MT6. The kid will probably start for 2-3 years.
If indeed kiffen is still recruiting this kid, and I'm not sold that he is, I can only imagine the verbal assault of diarrhea on FSU that is coming out of his mouth.
I mean if a coach told me I couldn't start somewhere else, I'd think he was telling I'm not that good and didn't believe in me. He may also be pointing to how our LBs developed, the stats they put up, and how they were used under Hudson and Stoops. Not exactly the backbone of our team the last few years.
A good question. There are several layers of appeals processes he must go through to be let out without penalty. He just changed his mind, that's all. And again, he says he signed his LOI "under duress" I doubt he even knew that word until an adult, probably Kiffin's henchmen, taught it to him. If there was any duress brought to bear, it came from his Mom and family and NOT FSU!
It would be nice to see Georgia come out and say we are not going to take MT. Then see if USC does the same. My guess is no. Then we will know straight up if Kiffin is the instigator.
Agree. I'm not sure Mark Richt would take him under the circumstances. Richt is the opposite of Kiffen.
You are border line offended when someone suggests this wont turn into a big deal and FSU wont end up looking bad in this.
Actually I bet they continued to call his dad, which may or may not be against NCAA rules. Kiffen knows the rules pretty well and bends them as much as he possibly can but I bet even he isn't stupid enough to commit a violation while at USC, doing so would result in his immediate firing most likely.
This most likely, and if Kiffin did do this through the dad, well while morally wrong, he is doing what he feels he needs to do to make his program better.
Now this will blackball him (if he isn't already) from other coaches, but Kiffin is a pompous little twit, whose fallback is his father.
I'm not being hyperbolic when I write that Lane Kiffin may be the most overrated head coach in a generation. He's 32-19 as a college football HC and a whopping 5-15 as a NFL HC.
Has he ever won a big game? Ever? Maybe....but there's no reason why Stanford and Oregon should have programs THAT much better than USC, sanctions notwithstanding.
Kiffin will be fired after this season and will get a job coaching WRs with the Seahawks.
