Man oh man, I think we're ALL jonesing for some football! Let the season begin already!
"I never knew I had a foot until I noticed it was on your neck"
You left out Dawsey. I put him in the same camp as Odell.
Yep. Dawsey = solid man. I understand coaches protecting career paths, I do. However, when you PROMISE a kid you will be there for at least 3 MONTHS, and then bravely run away for more money, you are a liar. Plain and simple. You lied. I know that's supposed to be OK these days, but the kid and parent you LIE to, don't think so. It's no wonder they take umbrage at the false statements of supposed straight up people. I guess they should just duck their head and accept it?
Character goes both ways, players and coaches. One of the reasons that I have so much respect for Dawsey and Odell. I know you can't hire all of our ex players, but some of them are good coaches and exemplify the culture of FSU, which contrary to what many believe has not been one of audacious behavior and swagger. It has been a culture that involves character, unlike our rivals.
I'd like to see T-Buck again some day, but then it could also be said that too many is not a good thing either.
I think Jimbo was truly disappointed in Coley. I think he trusted him and believed him. Coley basically slunk away in the night, and for some, that hurt. Then Napier was in Tallahassee for what? 5 minutes, 5 days?
Bottom line is I don't think Odell nor Dawsey would slink off in the night for another $100 grand.
Imagine if we had kept Napier and got Brewster. Obviously that was impossible but our staff would've been an absolutely imposing recruiting force.
Ummmm NO!!! We have potential at de but as of right now until that potential turns in to results we aren't very good right now at de. One likely starter Hicks played te last year (injured and no way they move him again NO WAY) and MEjr the other likely starter is very inconsistent and sometimes it is like he doesn't even exist out there. Next up is Newberry and hes our only other de that has any real in game experience. The rest are guys that's potential is very and hasn't stepped foot on the field yet (Walker and Casher). So right now instead of going to the te like we were all excited about and pounding on people. Jimbo and co are going to have to find someone that can block on the edge and be some kind of receiving threat at the same time. (I don't think Benjamin is physical enough or has the work ethic to be moved there. If any wr is going to be called upon to help out blocking I think Will Haulstead would make for a good motion or stand up blocker there but I'm not sure if he could be a true te blocking out of a three point stance. 2 years ago he was hands down our best blocker down the field and at the we position. I say instead of moving someone to te we just bring in a extra online men like UF did and just pound on opponents.
Barron to center and move Stork to that outside because he is probably our most versatile linemen. I think a front of (from left to right) Stork, Hart, Matius, Barron, Jackson, Erving, Oleary,Abrams and Wilder in the backfield, the running and passing threat of Winston and Greene and Benjamin (just in this formation for his size) on the outside. I think they could get it done vs any defense in the country and make Seminole fans excited and defenses intimated when we line up in that formation. Pains me to say it but when UF line up in that jumbo formation I said "O shit". And that jumbo set I mentioned is much better than what they put on the field.
If Christo makes to the professional level, coaches moving between jobs happens all the time. So when one coach leaves for another team, he's going to want to be traded from that team?? Bottom line to me is that JIMBO IS STILL HERE!!!
True but we have good enough recruiting. Last year showed we needed better coaching on the offense. We now have it.
Napier is a recruiter-Sanders is a coach
