I love it, as i'm sure all of you do as well. Just wish we would have been this proactive last year at times. Seems like there is no way we screw up this year.
Oh man, you had to say THAT!! We are DOOMED!
Honestly, at this point we are offering the elite linemen throughout the country, like we always do. We have no done much different as opposed to what would normally happen. The difference is that once we are done offering the best of the best, we only offer a few more from that point on. Lets hope this year, after we are done offering the elite, that we offer a lot of regional guys. I will say that there is no way you can really complain at this point. The big tell will be in May/June, when we can have a little bit better of an idea as to how many guys we truly look good for and then offer more from there.
"Some people think football is a matter of life and death, I assure you, it is much more serious than that."
This is true. If we get, say, exactly one of the guys we've offered so far, that would be a win. Two would be awesome.
We'll need another 5 or so from among guys we have not yet offered. Being late to the game--offering them, say, next January, would probably be unhelpful in this regard. But I know nothing.
A little different than when we were consistently the 15th school offering some top 200 recruit from the Midwest and Atlantic east like last year. Some of these kids we are their 2nd or 3rd offer. Or we are their 10th but all the others are Wake Forest, NCSt, Rutgers, etc.
I think we could sign six based off our current offers. Couldn't have said that 2/15/2012. JMO.
You are right but it is slightly different IMO
I agree with this.
I dunno Croz, maybe its emotion getting in the way of facts, but i certainly feel like we are more on the ball this year concerning OL offers.
We're way more on the ball this year. The new staff is extremely aggressive. They're offering kids from FL to NYC. This year's OL class is going to be Jimbo's best.
The Future is Now.
I think you are right chet, but I also think a lot of us are certainly paying more attention to OL offers.
Give these coaches credit for have a sense of urgency in regards to the OL needing to be addressed heavily in this upcoming class.
And unlike last year, I do think they will be more aggressive through out the entire process. A lesson has to be learned from the Austin Golson fiasco last year.
