I don't think he'll make more then Rhett but around the same dollar amount unless he is named Special teams & RB or WR coach. There are ways around it
I'm sure Jimbo told him he should listen to what they have to say. That's the smart thing to do. If he's as important as we all think he is, Jimbo's not letting him go.
Lots of chatter to Auburn doubling his pay and then some
While paying the OC more than the position coaches makes sense, I don't think anyone can guarantee anything, nor do I think they should. And since I don't believe you are any type of insider, it's really nothing more than some guesswork and assumptions you've posted.
I have no idea if he leaves or what the money will be. I just won't be surprised if the money's more than we expect or if he leaves. Newberg seems to think there's a good chance he leaves and that we won't match the salary.
I have never said that I was any type of insider what so ever... Call me out if I am wrong. I'm a big boy..
you guys do realize that Trickett makes more then James Coley dont you? So Auburn paying Craig more then their OC would be nothign differnt then what is going on here
That's a huge mistake. Just ask some of the people on here.
That's completely different considering Trickett's experience and what he was making prior to coming here. Not even close to the same comparision.
Trickett is also an assistant head coach.
Their new OC is a 29 year old kid who played high school football for Gus. He is OC in name only since we all know the HC will be calling the plays.
With that in mind I do think they could pay Craig more than the OC or pretty close to it. I hate the thought of him leaving, but if you could take a raise in pay of 70-80% you would at least go talk with them.
He certainly has a tied his ship to Jimbo. Gus could be a huge failure at Auburn and if Craig burns some bridges who knows. With the way he can recruit I would guess he could land on his feet anywhere in the southeast.
All in all if the offer is there for $350K he has to take a real hard look at it. For anything under $300 the reward is negligible.
Obviously its about who's calling the plays. Many on here just dont like Jimbo's in-game feel.
Yeah but Trickett is the best OL coach that ever lived, he deserves every penny
Im not sure how FSU replaces this guy, I heard he warmed up QB's like no other
Recruiting is gonna take a massive blow, I bet we only finish in the top 10 and that is just a tragedy mane
And if FSU still finishes top 5-7 with a strong finish like I expect, its clear that with Craig... we could have finished #3 instead of #4 or #5... maybe even #2... and the difference in something like this is so damn important
The difference between a few spots on NSD could be the difference between ACC titles and finishing 6-6
We should offer this man a million dollar salary, he is clearly that important to FSU's future
Without this man on staff, we lose to UF by 20+.... and possibly 5 or more games last year

"I heard he warmed up QB's like no other"
Of course he's interested. He played there and lived there. You never turn down an interview.
Oh yeah, I forgot he was instrumental in talking with EJ on the sidelines after he threw INT's in crucial situations
Coach of the year imo, can't be replaced
Whats to stop Auburn from making him a Co-OC with Lashlee?
Obviously Malzahn doesn't really care who is "offensive coordinator" is.
If he goes, good for him. He will be missed and replaced. If he stays great, get back on the trail, you got work to do
Best case scenario: Malzhan doesnt really want him.. Craig doesn't really want to leave.. they meet so they can tell people that atleast they tried but it didnt work out...
its a stretch but thats my hope.
What will FSU miss ?
EJ throwing 3 picks on senior day inside Doak to the hated Gators
Or his recruiting ? that is vastly over-rated for so many reasons... namely the fact that FSU pretty much recruits itself and you could send Barbara Bush to these kids houses and still sign some serious talent from almost anywhere in the country
Casher and Winston were coming to FSU regardless imo, Winston picked FSU for Jimbo and Mike Martin imo
And Casher and his dad loved FSU, not Craig.... Craig was just the dude that showed up to their door step
We could have sent Coley, Dawsey, Haggins or Jimbo and still signed Casher iyam
I like this guy. +1
Auburn's OC is a protege of Malzahn. He played for Malzahn in high school and Malzahn gave him his start in coaching by hiring him as a graduate assistant coach at Auburn. Malzahn also hired him as his offensive coordinator at Arkansas State and brought him to Auburn. Dameyune might or might not come to Auburn, but it would take a lot to damage the relationship between Malzahn and his offensive coordinator
You might be right, but he was part of the Nole family for awhile. Even though you dont think he did anything great, he was not bad either. He will missed, but like i said he will also be replaced with no prob.
I agree with you. I thought that one line was funny, but DC was a ferocious recruiter and liked by the players.
Staff continuity is under appreciated.
By the way....Wikipedia had to retract.
