Why the change? Just curious.
I don't know but I like it. I wish we would use him on more jet sweeps with his vision to read blocks and speed to Go the distance.
That's sorta why we have him and EJ have that read-option play they run 3 or 4 times a game. His two long TDs against Wake came off that play, IIRC.
Since nobody has the answer, except me, I'll tell you. One less number means less fabric on the jersey. Still following me? Now this does not make a difference with one number but since there are numbers on the front and back of the jersey you are essentially taking off twice the material. The result is being faster (the two less numbers theory) and Chris does not need that wide of a hole since 4 is thinner than 23.
I somehow lost the link where SportsScience proves all of this so for the time being you are going to have to trust me. Your welcome in advance.
I'd also like to get him going on the jet sweep where he is already in 2nd gear and he could be more effective in a decoy situation.
1. I really wish we'd stop letting players change numbers once they've been on the field with one. I have to have my laptop open for the first few games just to figure out who everyone is this year. Really annoying.
2. Why would we line up our starting running back at receiver a handful of times just to have one play available to run?
Hahaha right...the exact same idea as why swimmers and sprinters shave their bodies.
That's some solid BS right there.

You seem like the type to yell "Get off my lawn!".
1) It may not mean much to fans, but players get excited about having a certain number. Plus, many have worn the number their entire life and wait until an upperclassmen graduates to wear their old number
2) You know, he could actually run a route from the slot position too, right? CT has shown great hands. Many of the great offenses in college football and NFL line up their star RB's in the slot. Could be a nice added wrinkle to our offense
That was on one of the TDs, the other was the regular offtackle from the 2-back shotgun formation with Pryor as lead blocker.
