I don't see why they wouldn't just promote Morris eventually and tell Dabo to kick rocks.
from what i heard it is.
I think they should do so now.
I'm sure they have a reason, but that would be crazy. He only made 250,000 at Alabama.

I dont know the why and i am only speculating here but i think its because A. Saban was willing to pay a lot of money to eep him and B make sure Kirby couldnt poach him when he gets a HC gig.
That's what I figured the reason was. I assume we could have had him for 500,000 (doubled pay) with scaled pay based on production, but maybe not.
I Know saban was willing to match and raise for him up to a point. not sure where the limit was. I will say this tho, if what i have heard is right and i have no reason to believe it isnt, with the amount Pruitt will make Ellis Johnson wasnt our first choice Pruitt was.
If that's true, this guy better be one hell of a DC.
I have a hard time believing that we would pay a coordinator the type of money you're inferring. Not saying we aren't or that you're wrong, but we are Florida State and we don't pay coordinators like that. Or at least we haven't up to this point. Him being a first time DC I would have guessed we would be paying him right around 500k, but for us even that sounded like a stretch. Now I'm intrigued to find out the actual numbers. Hopefully a lot of it is performance based.
I guess we're changing with the times.
That's what WVU did with Stewart, and would have given him that last year if he didn't go all crazy on the new coach..
Like i said i dont know why but maybe it has something to do with the new council the BOT formed. Also fish my dad Wayne says hey.
I've heard same thing devildognole has.
The number was staggering.
I have no issue with FSU becoming even more competitive in terms of salary (we were way behind the times until Fisher assembled his first staff), I just find it hard to believe that we'd pay a guy that's never been a DC, an elite salary. You would think it would start low with incentive bonus'. After year one, if he's successful, then increase his salary to keep/reward him. If it's true that were paying him more than Stoops and Johnson, then we have put ourselves into a position in which we will have to give him even more money if other teams come calling. Which is fine, just seems odd.
Seems like a Chizik/Malzahn type situation at Clemson
Not sure if serious...
Morris' resume at this point suggests landing a non-AQ job - Sun Belt, Conference USA, MAC, et al. But he's getting paid more as a coordinator at Clemson than he'd get from one of those jobs. Bryan Harsin just got $700k/year at Arkansas State. Todd Monken is supposedly getting about the same at Southern Miss. Heck, Morris is getting pretty much the same salary as Willie Taggart will get at USF. Morris is either going to have to take a pay cut or just hope that a BCS-AQ school offers him down the road.
