The rumor on twitter is he's the next hire. Thoughts?
Home run hire
why would he leave Bama to coach RBs at FSU? would love to have him but it just doesnt make sense. Bama has a prestigious pedigree of producing runningbacks. we havent had a 1000yd rusher in 16 years. kind of an odd move. i cant imagine we would be able to outpay Bama.
unless he has family in tallahassee or doesnt get along with saban i find it a bit strange.
i dont know much about this guy. is he a good recruiter as well?

FSU Ambassador to the masses
Maybe Saban is going to the NFL
I am not saying I have all the answers, but this does make some sense. First of all, it would explain why we have waited so long to hire a new coach at the position. Secondly, I agree that it makes no sense for him to leave Bama, but it could possibly have to do with Saban leaving? I never bought into him leaving, but I really don't see why else he would.
"Some people think football is a matter of life and death, I assure you, it is much more serious than that."
I couldnt find anything on twitter...doubt its true. Having said that, I hope it is true.
anybody that can coach for saban for multiple years is ok in my book. we all know what kind of a perfectionist he is so if you can meet his standards you must be doing a good job.
Derek Dooley can go back to Alabama, and coach RB's for Saban, again.
Saban always has that option.
I said this the other day, the more time it takes it seems like its Burns. Also it doesnt mean that Saban is leaving IMO you build credibility under Saban. If you want to be taken serious about advancing your coaching career you have to get out of his shadows. I will add if he is hired we dont know if he will just be labeled RB coach or not, he could be RB/OC

What are you hearing big dog
I think we could make a competitive offer with an associate/coordinator title. We did, after-all, generate as much money as the 85 percentile in college football last year; more than USC west and Nebraska.

move would make zero sense for Burns
Besides the Stanford guy I approve if this is true.
But we wouldn't complain if he made the move, would we?
Could we be looking at a co-OC role and a hand over of playcalling?
Exactly. The hell with trying to make sense of something. If Burns comes to FSU, we all will be very happy.
If you coach RB's at Bama then you are supposed to do well. All the credit goes to Saban and his recruiting. Now if you leave and go to FSU and the success follows you then it must be the RB coach. So it could be a good move for him.
Would absolutely love the hire, and i look forward to it if it should happen. It will be tough to snag him if it comes down to dollars though obviously.
One thing to consider with regards to this not making sense.....Perhaps he is not interested in a pay raise.
OR, perhaps he's using FSU to get that pay raise..
I work with Burn's daughter in Atlanta. He's not tied at the hip to Saban. He was also at Clemson when they had James Davis and CJ Spiller. After 3 titles in 4 years he maybe ready for his challenge
Watching Alabama's RB's makes me want this really bad.
