You do post everything with a tone like you know something. The Big1G for instance, was something you pushed and floated like it was something FSU was very interested in. That would be interesting, if in fact FSU had any relationships in the Big1G like they have with the Big12. They don't...so at this stage, it's a pipe dream. But it's no secret you like the geography better like you do with the ACC because of personal reasons. That's fine...but that's not what's best for FSU.
And this talk of FSU thinking meh of the Big 12. Again, completely false. If they felt that way, they would have rejected the offer last year...instead of leaving that open, and doing their due diligence with the ACC over the course of this year...ie, the no vote to the 50 million dollar buyout, the push for real football, etc. I mean, you even suggested that ND was a move in the right direction. FSU was furious, not happy. Clemson was furious, not happy. We gave them ACCESS to our BOWLS, without making them compete in this league. You think people thought that was quality compromise, for a brighter future with ND? No, it was a desperation move by a conference head desperately trying to keep up with expansion, knowing the league was on the brink. And what did it do? Infuriate the football powers, not make it better.
You bring up Louisville being a good addition. You know FSU was also against this correct? Screw the financial situation. It was a slap in the face after saying "No" to WVU for years, because of academics, only to say yes to Louisville (with crappy academics) because they got desperate. They actually brought up USF to conference presidents, LOL. Yes, USF. So this great "academically proud" conference, is now willing to sell it's soul? For teams with subpar football, just to add something? Yes, the football oriented schools in this conference are furious. We could have made so many additions years ago if academics weren't a concern.
Almost everything you have basically "blogged" about on this site, is told with a tone "I know something", and everything is almost wrong with how our program is proactively looking at different conference. I don't know which boosters said "meh" to the Big12, but it certainly doesn't represent our administrations point of view, especially, like I said, just a little bit of insider information should tell you that FSU and the Big12 have a few connections to people that are high up in the Big12 - one even used to work at FSU a little over a decade ago! Not to hard to know that if you had a source worth a shit.
Rant over. I just want to set the record straight. The Big1G talk is just that. Telling stories at the urinal. It's so far from fruition, and would take a serious financial commitment from the Big1G to FSU in order for it to work, because there are no relationships there, it would take several partners to get there, and it would take this cloud of 50 million dollars hanging over all our heads in the ACC to be resolved, since that would likely never be put in place by August...more likely 2014 or 2015 to get an entire pod system and 20 teams organized, signed, sealed and delivered.
I feel the need to correct it, because your grass roots effort of screw the Big12, go Big1G does nothing but confuse and frustrate our fans about a possible addition to a conference that solves our drowning financial needs, adds exciting matchups, and more importantly, if we can get some partners here, creates a SOS that rivals the SEC and would certainly get us one 1 loss team in the playoffs every year, and in some years, 2 while the PAC and Big1G would be left out in the cold with 1 loss. At that stage, the playoff will be increased to 8 teams, but expect on most years the Big12 to get more teams in than both the Big1G and PAC. it's a VERY smart conference play for our future.

Look your obviously mad about your predictions in regards to the B12 not coming true, if venting on me makes you feel better, go for it.
Its entertaining reading, while I enjoy my Saturday morning coffee.
I am sure we FSU be going to the B12 any minute now...oh weren't you the guy who told me I was nuts when I said Notre Dame would be joining the ACC around 9 months ago?...Or was that someone else? I can't keep up..
Interesting. Syracuse and Boston College don't fit the Big Ten's academic profile even though both are good academic institutions. There's no telling who that school was. Heck, Notre Dame doesn't fir their profile either. Even if it was FSU that was rejected, things may change in a year or two. The ACC rejected Louisville and now practically begged Louisville to join.
Nebraska didn't fit the B10 model either. I don't know about anyone else, but to me the B10 looks like the desperate conference here.
I won't get into my whole "ACC is working on PSU" thing, otherwise it will just turn into a bashfest on here.
Anger leads to hate; hate leads to suffering.
Nebraska did fit the model. They wanted a national brand as #12. I suspect the Big ten network is getting resistance from cable providers in the mid atlantic and NYC from bring put on the expanded basic package. Hernce Md.and Rutgers.
I suspect Rutgers won't help very much in nyc. However, jersey is fairly populous on its own.
As to who is desperate all the conferences are desperate. Some just wear better poker faces.
Yes, even the SEC and pac 12.
The inevitable star wars quote.
TN, I was talking about this aau accreditation thing, UNL was on a probabtionary footing when the B10 let them in, I really am not sure how any of that works, and I imagine in the current climate nobody cares as much as they once did anyway.
I also don't know why the Nj/Ny market gets poo pooed...if 1 mill more tv sets tune into a game, thats fairly impressive.
You say you have no idea why people think you're pro-ACC and then you say crap like this (over and over and over again).
How much does something like the mag lab come into play. I know thats a world class facility, and probably our shining light in terms of research. BIG 10 and its CIC would surely be interested in adding that to its resume.
PBen, I'm just tired of your BS agenda, and your utter lack of facts on this Saturday morning. And yes, FSU is still in heavy talks with the Big 12, and I predict as of today, based on what I know about FSUs involvement, and the Big 12s interest, it will happen and it will happen by August.
And I said ND will never be a Full member, the crap you continue to spew on here, which is just that, crap. They raped the ACC, and FSU feels that way...again, if you had a clue what your are talking about, you would know they felt that way.
I'd hate to see PBen actually have to board a flight to watch his Noles. Breaks my heart.
You boys need a time out. Continue the discussion with a different tone or the thread will have to be locked.
Pben is a sneaker salesman who hears rumors and posts them as inside info. He thinks he speaks for FSU fans and knows what we want and how our alums will feel about leaving the ACC. He couldn't be more wrong about what FSU fans in the ACC footprint want!
Sneakers? Footwear thank you. Maybe I should become a booster Prez so i can get dialed in?
Ok fine, Go Big 12..and wherever else this board wants/prays/fantasizes about going.
I will go back to reading this gibberish, because obviously i have an agenda and am just looking for credibility when i challenge internet innuendo.
Hey bowden 4 Prez you may want to tell the admin at FSU about our pending B12 move, i don't believe they are aware of it..

PBEN - I just find it hard to believe that FSU is not talking to the Big 12 right now given the potential revenue disparity...
"England expects that every man will do his duty."
- Vice Admiral Horatio Nelson, Royal Navy
Well, since two of the higher ups in the Big 12 worked at FSU...they are pretty much aware of it.
And now that I know youre a shoe sales man, wouldn't that be the joke. Al Bundy is told all about expansion. Nevermind lawsuits of multi-million dollar proportions, administrators at multiple school tell all to shoe boy.
Glad clarity has been broken on the subject now. Our admin spends all this time spinning in the press over potential lawsuits, only to tell shoe boy everything? Lol
BTW...can you at least stop lying? You start off saying "I never said I was an insider" to then say "somebody should notify FSU about discussions". You know nothing. Stop. You're agenda is sad...
Your taking this internet thing a little serious. Coming off as a jackass too.
I'm sipping blackberry shine, brother, as I watch my Navy whoop your guy's ass.
Bowden4prez...You make a lot of sense. I appreciate your input.
No problem. I am one to admit that I usually have zero sources on this stuff, but came across a pretty good one 4 months ago and I was shocked to hear how many connections FSUs current admin has to the Big12. They are very much in contact.
Bowden - when do you think FSU makes the jump?
The UMD lawsuit will have a lot to do with that. Hard to put together a deal until the true number is known. Also need our partners. My person didn't give me a timeframe outside of it needing to likely happen before August. If a full year goes by, that full 50 mil will be enforceable. Partners in this are also a must. We won't go by ourselves.
Done with the topic and message board tough guys...that said, 13-10 4th qtr.
I said the same thing about ND when they were given a bowl preference without being a member. Then a 50 million dollar buyout was put in place as an assurance to ND. I don't see how a full member wouldn't be upset. It seems ND runs the ACC. Doesn't surprise me, watch Te'O win the Heisman tonight.
Crap....fumble on the 15...damn
I live on the edge of Fort Rucker, and I was the only fool in Buffalo Wild Wings yelling.
