1: Brian Banks is a 27 year old linebacker who just signed with our Falcons. The thing is he spend the last 5 years in prison for being falsely accused of rape and kidnapping. The sweet isn't as sweet without the bitter. I cannot imagine how this guy felt when he signed his NFL contract yesterday. The link has a piece from 60 minutes.
Its been a long time coming, but Brian Banks is finally receiving his shot at the NFL. The Atlanta Falcons announced they signed the former USC linebacker recruit Wednesday.
2: Evan Gattis is a catcher for the Braves. He ran away from baseball fearing his substance abuse and for depression would get him in trouble. Gattis' four-year journey away from baseball allowed him to enjoy stints as a ski lift operator, janitor and a cook. When he started back he was so poor he didn't even have the equipment to play catcher. A high school coach gave him a bag of gear. Last night he hit his first major league hit, it was a home run. No joke, as Evan comes to the plate, then hits a home run, the announcers are interviewing his father in the stands in the outfield about this incredible journey. I mean wow. The link below is the live broadcast.
This guy hit his first hit, a HR, yesterday. On the same day Brian Banks signed his contract with the Falcons.
When Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez put Evan Gattis in the lineup for Wednesday night's game against the Phillies, he assumed the powerful rookie catcher would add to the magic of his journey by doing something special in his Major League debut.
Still a bad sports town
Anywhere in the South is... college >>>>>>>>> pros.
That's why atlanta, miami, tampa, NOLA, charlotte, tenn teams, etc. have terrible pro fans lol.
Gattis almost fully shamed himself. Flipped the bat and started trotting upon contact and it was a HR by 6 inches. I would have lawled.
Don't forget kevin ware returning home with Louisville for the final 4
Lol Still bitter about that Pirates playoff loss to the Braves, huh?
But he didn't......
And he was hitting into the wind. Some swings, you just know its a homer.
