In various threads it is often suggested that "FSU fans" are so this or that. For example, it is said FSU fans are uniquely unreasonable in that we will demand coaches who recruit, then complain when Jimbo hires coaches without long coaching resumes, but who have demonstrated recruiting ability.
It is said we are unreasonably intolerant of our coaches--too quick to throw Jimbo or Trickett under the bus, etc.
My question is, do we really think FSU fans are unique in their tendencies? Are we spoiled RELATIVE to other fan bases? Less knowledgeable? More or less obnoxious?
Or are differences between fan bases largely just subjective perceptions with no basis in truth?
In particular, I am interested in opinions comparing us with other "big" football schools that have had done success. For example, I do expect us to be more intolerant of losses than Duke fans, or Stony Brook fans. That's not very interesting.
But are we somehow "worse" or "better" than UF, Clemson, Tennessee, Auburn, eyc.?
