I just am intrigued but not worried at all about this class. Our team is looking great. The Qb battle will be fun to follow. No stress bc Clint is a sure thing solid player. I think Matias slides out, Hart vs Carter at LG vs Barron as a center. OL will be potentially best of Tricketts miserable tenure.
Defense will be badass. Hollins and Walker is the perfect tandom fit for us.
We all read great things on Aguayo and Beattie should improve. Returners are great.

So I guess I'm jus absolutely pumped about the team and every kid we don't get this year will be cloned in the 2014 class that will be memorable.
Yea I'm pretty much in the same boat, we will be back on track next year and be fine, we still finish top 20 and were stacked over the depth chart
FSU -->----->> The Unconquered Uprising
Is it against the rules for me to agree? I am not worried either. I am really excited about a new attacking defense and I am praying we have a QB that can make a decision under pressure.
"Some people think football is a matter of life and death, I assure you, it is much more serious than that."
One of the reasons I was shocked coley left is bc look at the weapons he would've had on offense as an OC - 5* and 4* players across the board
I'll try to not come across as a know it all or anything but something about this class 12 months ago just gave me a funny feeling. Everyone has a down year in recruiting every now and then and it was about time for one from us (although this still isn't too down). No sweat 2014 is gonna rule.
The general rule of thumb is however you played in a specific season, the following recruiting year will follow a similar suit. So in 2011 we had a let down of a season, especially when we lost 3 straight games, so the 2013 recruiting class is the one that falls in line with that. On the flip side, in 2012 we went 12-2, and I think that is why a lot of people are expecting 2014 to be a big year for us. I think something else that helps just as much, if not even more, is that we have so many new coaches. Anyone who has followed recruiting for a decent amount of time knows that new coaches can tell recruits that you are "my guy" and that I am not as familiar with the players on the roster or how you can get things "jumpstarted" for our program. This usually applies to Head Coaches (see Ole Miss and Texas A&M), but in can apply to FSU seeing as we have so many new coaches (more than just 1 or 2 left). Next year I bet you see Tennessee, USF, and Arkansas have better classes than they usually have for this exact reason.
I'm sweating it all.
I agree with the sentiment. We have the monster talent we've been recruiting for the three years Jimbo has been HC as well as the guys still around the year before.
Who's to judge that his 5 year plan didn't include flushing out his original staff ( and by flushing I mean heightening them to levels possibly beyond their actual skill sets). And once established bringing in a team more suited to his philosophies paralleled with our acquired talent.
We have the talent, now the fun of seeing if this coaching staff is truly cut from the similar cloth begins...
I tend to think that even though losing Coley wasn't in Jimbo's master plan, flushing out dead wood was.
Change can be good. The same coaches that get you back to a respectable program might not be the coaches to get you to the promise land. And when you look at our team, there is talent and depth all over. Sure some inexperience at QB and defensive end, but what team doesn't have some inexperience. Think we have a great season held back only by inexperience at QB.
Signing day will be good for us, maybe not top 5 but close. Then it is game on.
just the ol class coming in this year. Not the upcoming season.

Hold on! fsufsu and crozea agree on something!?!?! Holy smokes, Batman!!
The Future is Now.
It's very easy to forget that going back to last summer Jimbo stated that they were taking a slightly different approach to recruiting this year. He was looking at recruiting a 2-year class: 2013 & 2014. He was NEVER going all in on 2013. So, if you combine the classes right now, what you see is pretty badass.

I just have a feeling one of the Qbs is going to really stand out a play very well. Might be CT. No one knows. Too much well prepared talent there not to have one shine.
The 2014 class will probably be 25-26 guys and just ruthless.
I hope you are right. We are going to need good QB play to beat Clemson and UF [just don't turn it over!].
It will be interesting to see if we stick with our playmakers more like Rashad and O'Leary [assuming he stops dropping the ball]. Wilder and Freeman could really take the pressure off of the QB. I think we will have the offensive line to have a decent running game for the first time in a few years which could really help the rookie QB.
Not sweating it. We have a ton of talent to work with this year and if we win big Jimbo can write his own recruiting check next season.
Not worrying about it. We have a lot of talent on the roster, and like many others have said, I think next years class will be great. Still for some reason have the feeling we might have a few diamonds in the rough in this years class, despite star ratings. Not sure who, just a feeling.
"Don't mistake lack of talent for genius." Type O Negative
I have a funny feeling people are overlooking Coker. Kid has a cannon of an arm and even though he is huge, he is deceptively athletic for a kid that size.
I am excited just to see how the QB situation is going to fall out and see if the problems we had on offense were on Jimbo or the EJ.
I've never been this excited about a spring game.
I never sweat recruiting - for a few reasons
1. First & foremost - I know absolutely diddlysquat about it
2. They are kids, many with big heads, who have proven nothing at this level
3. That's Jimbo's thing and so far he seems to have done well overall there
4. There isn't a thing I can do about it - so why worry about something I have no control over
I am, however, interested in who we get once its done & over with, and what, if anything the incoming class is all about, although I do pay attention to what the recruitnicks think, but I don't let it get me over excited
I usually keep more of an eye out on the redshirts and how the incoming class develops early on for the upcoming years
I think that Pender is going to give Freeman and Wilder stiff competition in the backfield. I also agree that Coker is really going to impress if he's given the opportunity.
Clint Trickett is a sure thing?
Not sure what reaction this will bring out but I personally think if Miami gets a slap like 15 over 3 and they close with Collins, Thomas and Kirkland then the self belief down there will really swell and they've got a really good top 40 guys down there. Not much depth. But week two against a still sloppy Jeff Driskell I think the Canes will beat Florida at home.
I think the big factor in that game is all the new defensive starters of UF against an experienced UM offense.
Should be fun to watch. Think it could be a high scoring game.
