hard to argue with 51 points. but looking back at the game some, we really didn't execute well at all in the first half. bc is just that bad of a team and left some wide open things that we were able to capitalize on thank goodness. ncstate likely beats this bc team by 2-3 scores, imo.
51 points and we still didn't play A+ ball. but give me B+/A- ball and winning by 6.5 scores every day of the week. this win gets the confidence up, and still shows our guys that they have a lot to learn and haven't played complete football yet. get better every week is all you can really ask for.
on to miami. FMFFM.
"Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience."
I saw casher beat his guy almost everytime. And edwards was plowing his man back while having his pads taken off of him. Both played well just didnt get the numbers.
Christian Jones in pass coverage seems to be an issue.
I would like to see more passes to O'Leary.
His numbers are his numbers. They are not misleading. The deeper you throw the less accurate you will be. Pretty sure that's common knowledge. 79% is 79%. If these were ponders numbers he would have been anointed the second coming of CW.
That doesn't count
Would've liked more sacks but with the blatant holding not being called i dont know what our players can do.
Oh, the ice quality. I strongly prefer the slushy style ice or the tiny cube.
Regarding my "always" comment, nah, y'all are right, you can find a counter-example here or there, so I'm exaggerating.
But really, when EJ sees a guy that wide open, he typically does overthrow. That's very frustrating. But i like EJ a bunch.
On FSUfanforever's longish analytical post...
I think there's some insight in the post. EJ's warm-up period may be a real thing, but I think there is a way to get him into the game far more quickly: run him and let him get hit. He may not like it, but it gets his juices flowing and he becomes a better PASSER as well as plays better overall.
On the idea that with a better OL, Trickett would be a Heisman contender, I'm less sure. There is no such thing in today's football as an OL that never struggles in pass pro. Even Alabama's OL can give up pressure at times. There is a reason why mobile QB's are do in demand today. I agree with much criticism of Trickett, but the OL you are dreaming of having under a different OL coach may not exist except in the past.
My only complaint is that EJ missed quite a few deep balls.
Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or it may last a year. But eventually, it will subside. If i quit, however it will last forever.
It was flawed play calling on both sides of the ball last week. BC showed how to burn the blitz and we should have done it last week.
If was a huge mistake but it highlights how tough it is to go undefeated today.
ND almost lost at home
Kansas St almost lost
Ohio st almost lost
Florida struggled at vandy
Oregon st struggled at BYU
IT happens, and although not probable, the NC game is not impossible for the Noles.
You have an agenda and it isn't being an FSU fan.
You whole post is bogus.
The OL will be a DOMINANT unit next year and ill remind you of this post.
Run defense seems average at times... Has to improve before next week and definitely before the UF game... Not sure why FSU seems to get gashed up the middle (seen it the past few weeks starting with USF)...
EJ - HOT / COLD; I don't understand it and never will... Just have to ride it out the next 7/8 games...
Refs - How many holds can you ignore... No clue, but whatever.

The first play on the goal line stand should have been a touchdown. The BC player was wide open. Can't have that mental error in redzone, the ball won't be tipped every time.
This is what FSU should do against outmatched teams. When Jimbo preaches being multiple, this is what he should mean. It means FSU should be able to spread it out and make it a perimeter speed game against slow teams and then tighten it up and maul against small teams.
Jimbo said he called 8 plays for O'Leary. EJ simply doesn't look for him unless it's obvious (the roll outs). O'Leary and Benjamin are match up nightmares against every team in the country, they should be focal points of the offense.
Stoops went from blitzing 0 times in 81 plays to 64 times in 65 plays. If he can find the happy medium this week, Miami is in trouble.
Menelik Watson is the most important player on the team.

This 100%. After the game I looked at my husband and said that I didn't know whether to be happy that the team played like they should have or pissed that they didn't play like that last week.
Is it just me or does it seem like EJ is trying to be too perfect on his deep throws when he misses? What I mean is, it seems like he tries to lead the receiver when he would probably be better off just giving them a chance to make a play on the ball? Nit picking I know but just a thought.

Our supposed best LB having 2 PI penalties on back to back plays to set up their only TD was pretty bad
GO NOLES! / SCALP EM!
I caught part of the 2nd qtr..I was stuck in BFE FCS hell again.
BC is probably the worst team in the ACC, so not sure what to take from anything I saw.
On a sidenote I witnessed what can possibly be the worst officiating call ever, WM #3 catches a TD, they trow the flag saying he stepped out of bounds, but it was #13 who stepped out, #3 was inbounds by a good 3 yds...so next time you think ACC officiating is awful 9which it is), there are officials out there who are even worse.
Too many penalties and we lost the turnover battle. Other than that it was a great game. Fisher did better with the play calling and the team really stepped it up. Great goal line stand on the first drive.

My biggest complaint is I'm sick as a dog. I didnt drink any beer and did not get laid because I fell asleep at 9.
After the disaster last weekend, I.cant complain. Just win. Thats all I ask.
I really want to see more of Freeman. As a former college back, I love to see him run. Although both CT and JWJ have done very well half way through the season.
But what happens in the games we "show up" to...which fails to happen in the others? I think it's pretty consistently that same problem...
Offensive line play in general + O-line/TE/HB ability to pick up blitzes.. It completely changes who we are as a team and how Jimbo calls plays... and how much opportunity EJ has to warm up.
Yes... because it makes perfectly good sense for someone to buy season tickets + be a booster + spend 6 hours of their day on Saturday tailgating & attending the game + spend money on concessions .... then to come home and spend 20 minutes writing a post analyzing the game..
Needless to say, I'm glad you aren't the authority on what a true fan is....And you are damn right, I do have an agenda, which is, to make our program the best in the country.
Our O-line may be slightly above average next year, but wake me up when we stop having 3-4 meltdowns a season.

I was just thinking that about Menelik Watson, when he's in there to me it seems like the offense is completely different then when Glauser is in
