We wish could have pulled this kid. Knew he was a baller in high school but he is putting on a show tonight
Clear to see why we wanted him so badly...
The crazy thing is we have not landed a true stud at wr in jimbos 6 years here, no offense to rashad... Amari is a beast.
Dude is a BEAST, very polished and is damn true freshman
I remember Josue claiming he was by far the best wr that cycle. Wish we could have snagged him.
He's put on a show the whole season. He's been a better true FR WR than Julio Jones was for them.
We've landed them, no one has just stepped up and become a dominant force. I think part of that is our deep rotation. We play a lot of WRs and rarely take shots deep.
On the year: 59 receptions, 1,000 yards, 11 TDs and 17 YPC.
As much as we'd all love to have Cooper, does does anyone think he'd be near this effective in Jimbos offense? He never comes off the field at Alabama, and Jimbo substitutes personnel like Leonard Hamilton.
No WR will ever step up in Jimbo's O. He like's to spread the ball around too much.
no one is getting enough snaps to look dominant. Too much shuttling in and out of the game with too many of the wr's . no continuity or rhythm with the qb because of the lack of snaps during the game.
IMO Greene is in cooper's class. Also bama's overall wr corps is very avg so that makes cooper even look better.
The reason he wouldn't have had that sort of year here is our depth at receiver. We have better options aside from him than 'Bama does. If we didn't, he'd have had a huge year here as well.
Jimbo clearly wants to feature a dominant receiver. You could see how we tried to do that with Benjamin until he slinked off into the abyss.
LOL true story.
I said it another thread but AmarI reminds me of Pete Warrick and it's not just the number. Just the way he moves, the jukes and that body control. I've never compared anyone else to Pete either

Infuriates me too.
Rashad Greene needs to touch the ball 10 times [at the minimum] on offense.
Cooper has everything Greene has, but with 25 more lbs of muscle on his frame
"Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience."
That's factually incorrect. We got the ball to Preston Parker as much as we could when he was the best we had. When Jimbo had a first-round talent in Dwayne Bowe, he was featured at LSU. And you can see that he believes Benjamin has the ability to be that guy, and if he would have been ready mentally, he'd be that guy for us.
Rashad is becoming that guy. 9 catches against G Tech. 5 against UF (we only completed 19). 4 against Maryland (again, only completed 19). 6 for 125 against VT. 6 catches in Orange Bowl. We're trying to find him often now, and looking for him quite a bit in the red zone.
Cooper had 2 more catches than Greene, and Greene was not half the receiver he is now early in the year when he was returning punts as well as playing receiver.
