...I like that policy...think we should adopt it...
We come out throwing with a 17 point lead and our fans freak out. We come out running with a lead and our fans freak out.
The people who compared jimbo to saban just because he coached under him are mindless. Jimbo is nothing like saban.
Broken record is broken.
Love how ruthless Saban is!
The Future is Now.
I didn't start the thread.
It's about not shutting it down once you get a lead like Fisher does all too often. Saban was merely an example of a coach who on this night continued to keep the engine running and not let it idle.
Sounds about right. Some fans feel one way others another. It's called differences of opinion.
No, its the same people. Jimbo has not shut it down since NC State.
No mention of "killer instinct" or throat reference in this thread yet?
You guys are slipping.
Jimbo lacks a throat and doesn't go for the killer instinct.
The poster formerly known as 31-7. Understood by few, known by many, loved by all.
Finish the drill. That's the motto we need to adopt.
What does that mean? How are you defining that? "Shutting it down"?
Think he means Jimbo has kept his foot on the gas in the rest of our games since NCS, despite comments to the contrary.
Saban plays to win, jimbo plays not to lose. There is a huge difference and most who have played the game know that difference.
When the clock stops, you stop scoring and beating your opponent's head into the ground. Until that expiration, you unleash hell on every snap.
How so? How does Jimbo take his foot off the gas?
There's simply no point. FSU fans do not watch FSU football and see anything beyond the success/failure of a play. There's been games when Jimbo's been TOO aggressive latter half of the year with a lead.
IE there's been many aggressive calls that don't succeed.

It's like he's tried to cater to the complainers, which actually hurt us at times. However, the ironic thing is that they don't recognize he is doing it anyway.
I learned a valuable lesson this year based on what Bowden used to say (not much I take from him at the end, but this is one)--a head coach has to ignore the fans. He has to do it his way (and evaluate and change based on success or failure) and not cater to what the fans want because the complainers will be damned if they will be happy no matter what you do. If you run, they want pass. If you pass, they want run.
This /\. He also said if you listen to the fans, you'll end up sitting next to them.
Eh, I don't think it was that. I think it was wanting more dominant performances/not wanting to replicate NCSU/not letting that mentality settle in.
Jimbo doesn't give a flip what the fans think he should do (and for the most part, rightfully so).
