It really bums me out how negative some of you on this board are! You act like accepting Baker's commitment is the biggest mistake since I don't know when; that he's sure-fire "practice player"; like it's inevitable that he'll transfer after his sophmore season. How the hell do you know!? Some of you act like you spend time in the room with Jimbo and Stoops and Co. Some of you need to just step back and realize that you're just an ignorant fan like myself. I'm not saying Baker is the next Deion Sanders. Hell no, but he's a nice player. Terrific athlete, albeit it, inexperienced and raw. Give him a chance to prove himself. None of you know what's in this kid's heart.
"I never knew I had a foot until I noticed it was on your neck"
Is it just me or is all the bellyaching a sign of how spoiled our fan base has become with regards to recruiting under Fisher? I trust our staff.
If one of the "experts" said he was a player, half of this crowd would be all over this kid. They don't like how it went down. I love the, he will be gone after his sophomore year crowd. You have no idea if that will be the case. I just don't get talking junk about a kid who just committed to your team.
One kid is not going to make or break a class. His dream is to play for fsu and he gets that chance. NO ONE knows how it will work out, but talking junk about the kid is not the way to go.
It's not just you Noles_Win. I think FSU fans are some of the most spoiled, entitled fans in the country. A lot of Noles fans expect that we should recruit on par with Alabama (somehow we have the past 2 years!), LSU, Auburn, and UF when we haven't won ANYTHING in 10 years. The only thing those programs do is win National Championships. Our recent recruiting success is a real testament to Jimbo and Co., probably the best in the business, considering. They've been luring big-time recruits to Tally selling nothing but tradition and the hopes of returning to prominance, while the above SEC schools having been selling actual success on the field. Our 2013 class seems a little down (most services have our class around #10 in the nation) this year. That's ok. What do you expect, Noles fans!? What FSU needs to do is win, plain and simple. Then we'll get the Hargreaves, Tunsils, et al on a consistent basis. We should all be EXTREMELY satisfied with the recruiting we've done since Jimbo's arrived. Stop whining Noles fans!!!
This place is becoming Warchant 2.0. All I care about is winning, don't care if it's some kid's dream offer........there are thousands ever year who never get an opportunity to play at FSU.
Yeah I don't mind taking a few reaches... honestly sometimes it works out... but FSU did not do what they did in the 90s because of reaching.... Miami didn't do what they did in the 80s because of reaching... We did that because we refused to let the best players leave florida and the best in florida are the best in the nation.... If your team is that much more talented than every other team in the country all the time you always have a chance to win... and Adrian Baker would have been ok as a first commit at the position but 3rd? and with all these other low caliber athletes on the team already its like we just are rushing to get numbers instead of quality... UF should not be out recruiting us right now... and I believe that we are letting ourselves get comfortable... there is too much talent left to take this guy right now...
Walking up these hills you have no choice but to be fast!
I just have a hard time believing jimbo would give in bc of what people said on twitter. That isn't his way. There is more to this than what people are thinking. If anything jimbo didn't want to cause problems with his high school coaches. No need to burn a bridge. I just think this kid is more of a player than others on here.
Are you saying that Hoefeld, Morgan, Wilson, Green and Denson, our last 5 commits before Baker, were reaches? Those 5 guys are studs, my friend.

No one is bashing the kid for his talents, just wondering why take him now... that is all nothing more, nothing less. HE IS A NOLE and with that I support him but it doesn't mean that I can't ask why take him now, when there are others who at this stage of their career are better... and that is what most who seem as if they are bashing the kid is saying...
Surprised FSU took this kid now. Last year at this time Ronald Darby wasn't really an option then on NSD he's a Seminole.
When you hear that he tried to commit two months ago but could not.....that should tell you a lot.
This class will be completely different when FSU is rolling this season.
Honestly I hope this is our last commit unless we get someone big... we have 4CBs commited and I don't think any of them are worthy of a commit now offer... unless you took 2 and saved spots... honestly... I understand some of the recruits... and I would take baker over shelton so if he is de-committing I get it but right now its not a pick we should take... when we are in a good position to get some good recruits at this position.. and I hope like heck they don't want him at safety because he plays too soft...
The reason I don't like it is because is he better than Mackenro? And we know the Alexander's are a package deal... so why fill up with CB picks when we have Artie and both of the Alexanders still on the board?
