A. Johnson's (2015 commit) brother.....
To us hopefully
He's pretty damn big for 7th grade
It must be the size and name recognition. If it is anything more, then maybe I need to send Jimbo some film of my son and some these other kids in the DMV!! I was not that impressed with that film.
7th grade? really? thats a bit early to be offering kids. think about how many kids dont progress from 10th grade to 12th. recruiting is really getting out of control
FSU Ambassador to the masses
I couldn't have said that any better, whole lot of kids in DC and MD (I don't spend a lot of time in Va anymore) that look like this. But I hope this kid does great so he can get his college education.

I remember that one year i think it was Kentucky offered a HS Freshman.......turns out the kid never grew another inch, and never progressed at all and they had to end up pully his scholly years down the line.
Stuff like that should never happen. Offering and taking commits from Juniors is bad enough.
Didn't we have a basketball players that committed as an 8th or 9th grader that we ended up dropping? He too was 6'5 and never grew a lick.
FSU has a class of 2016 baseball player and 7 2015 baseball players committed, but it's easier to project baseball players at younger ages.

Wasn't Derwin James a freshman when he committed?
Dre Johnson hasn't grown a whole lot (I think a staff member said he looked 6'1"/2") but how solid him and Derwin James makes them must takes IMO. It is a part of modern recruiting now days (young kids getting offered) and it doesn't bother me at all.
Both of those kids are studs too. If johnson doesn't grow any bigger he is athletic enough to translate to another position. Our early 2015 commits we need to hold on to tightly cause they are all players.
I'm with you. I've seen kids in middle school in the West Georgia and Atlanta areas that are just as good or better than the kid was in that film. Maybe they just see a very high ceiling with him with that size for a middle schooler to be a great DB or WR
The staff may be looking at he started at Trinity Christian the premiere football program in Jacksonville, Fl. Trinity Catholic also has a Soph. committed DB to LSU
Hell, I say forget the hand-wringing and lock him up!
