Losing recruits is never easy to take but, hey, it happens(although ANYTHING can happen over the next 7 days).
-6 new coaches means 6 new personalities he'll have to deal with
- almost an entirely new starting defense and a new starting QB
Saban is in a class by himself because he lost 5 starters on a ridiculous defense and still got a national championship.
Guess we'll really see how good of a coach he really is..
This makes no sense.
How is the year following 12-2, conf champ & BCS bowl win a "make or break" year?
I thought with the favorable schedule, veteran QB and D, 2012 was. I mean this yr we are breaking in a new QB and have our toughest games in the road. People will have more excuses to play with this yr. Jimbo had one of the easiest roads to a title game ever, and we choked.
If you happy with just ACC titles, Jimbo may be your boy. If your aspirations are national titles, I'd take a closer look at the numbers. He's just bad on the road and can't beat legit top 10 teams with the too 5 talent on his roster. It is what it is.
Another stupid post.....
Stupid is not considering that scenario in the first place. I hate uf, but it wouldn't surprise me if Foley has clearly explained his expectations to his head coach. It's done in every successful manager employee relationship there is. I want the manager who does that and the employee who welcomes it.
When I said make or break, I didn't mean in terms of him being fired; winning a bcs bowl is nothing to be ashamed of.
My main point is that most gym head coaches don't usually lose 6 coaches in the span of what, 6 weeks? In the long run, it could end up being a blessing in disguise.
Sorry for being vague.
This is really no different that hiring a new coach and him assembling his staff. His last 2 recruiting seasons should carry him this year, but we cannot afford to slip up this year. Fans can accept losing to the big boys but not to teams we should blow out. Bobby Bowden's legacy was amazing. He lost to Miami's and Gators for the most part. Jimbo is winning those but seems to come up way short with the easy opponents.
If you are content with successful turnarounds and marked improvement over the course of time, then this senseless rant isn't for you!
I thought TNOLE27 and his bitchy attitude were tough to take, your nonsense is on a whole new level of stupid. You think Jimbo sucks, we get it, but damn dude look at the big picture and tell me with a straight face that FSU should fire Fisher. If you can, you aren't living in reality and clearly have an agenda. Lets play your game, we fire Fisher today. Who do we hire?
Fisher has his problems but let's take a look at those numbers, shall we? Fisher is 10-5 on the road in his 3 years as HC, is that your definition of "just bad on the road"? And he did lead FSU to a victory over a #10 Clemson this past season so saying he "can't beat legit top 10 teams" is just factual wrong. But i couldn't agree with you more on your last point, it is what it is.
Back off the ledge man.... 31 wins in 3 seasons. More and more of you cliff jumpers here starting to clog up the board. Relax a bit...
2013 is Jimbo's make-or-break season... because if go along way towards revealing where our improvements have come from.
Gameday coach + technique coaching vs. Improved Recruiting
0 losses = Time to raise him to Saban levels
1 loss = Jimbo can no longer be questioned, he is now a top tier coach... both in recruiting + coaching... deserves raise
2 losses = Jimbo did a damn good job in a staff turnover/rebuilding year... deserves raise... close to unfirable for 3-years
3 losses = minimum acceptable, defer judgement
4 losses = Most of the gains we have made are recruiting... our coaching is lacking
5 losses = Vast majority of the gains we have made are recruiting... our coaching is severely lacking, we need to start evaluating our options
6 losses = All of the gains we have made are recruiting... our coaching has not improved, we need to fire Jimbo
Even as a sceptic, who fully expect the lower half because of my evaluation of the underlying mechanics of why we are winning/lossing (ignoring the actual wins/losses)... there is no way you can discuss/debate firing him at this point.
*If 2 of our losses come to double-digit underdogs, add +1 more loss to the assessment.

I'm going to save this post.
I've posted the same thing 3-4 times over the past 6-months.
My bitching and moaning comes because the lower half is a forgone conclusion, given what my eyes have seen. Trust me, I'll be defending him more feverently than you if he ends up with 2-or-less losses (provided both of those aren't to double digit dogs)
as bad as some of you want to deny it.... there is truth in this statement.
another stupid reply.
Please elaborate on the truth in that statement.
Because the program looks unstable right now. It is actually unstable right now. If we are something like 8-4 next year, then the argument can be made we have ridden this horse as far as it will take us.
Couple that with the very large segment of boosters who wanted to go get an hc and pay Jimbo off and Jimbo's seAt gets hot.
Contrary to what it seems most think on this board, the BOT, Big monied boosters, etc think we underachieved this year. They also acknowledge Jimbo has turned some things around but most think lots of coaches could have done the same thing. Jimbo has been told this in no uncertain terms. Why do you think Jimbo keeps quoting meaningless stats i
Even if he had not been told this when he was shut down when he pushed for a raise & was countered with "go get a real OC" he would have gotten the message.
That will be reinforced IF, IF we have similar recruiting issues next year or far more important, 2-3 coaches leave next year.
Losing 6 coaches is chaotic. I could care less if we have chaos. However, it cannot be more than a short-term issue for a football program.
Lastly, it is critical for Jimbo that he does not have an NCST type loss next yeAr or his seat will be scorching for 2014.
Most importantly, Jimbo has pissed off a lot of boosters and most of the BOT with some issues that have come up on the rubber Chicken circuit. A lot of boosters. I could care less about the issues. I pay part of his salary so we have a great (which we do not as of yet) football team. I do not pay part of his salary so he will be my friend.
Not all boosters approach things from such a business standpoint.
Glad you made it official. Is that you President Barron?
Gesh I thought these kind of guys were only at Warchant.
Dude give it a rest. Nobody gives a fvck what you say....
Wrong. I love me some TNOLE posts.
