If I'm Gus Malzahn and I have the choice between Ole Miss and UNC, I'm going to UNC without a second thought. Ole Miss is a coaches graveyard. You just aren't going to be able to compete with Bama, LSU and Auburn in your division every year. The ACC Coastal would be a better place to start a coaching career
And if I'm Al Golden, I'm getting the hell out of Miami as fast as I can. Self-imposing bowl bans means they know it's going to be bad. Would I go to PSU? Maybe - it is his alma mater, so you have to throw logic out the window to some extent.
I still think the UCLA job might be the best one available this offseason. It's a better location with great recruiting nearby and untainted by scandal like OSU, PSU, UNC and um if Golden bolts like I expect. I think that program is a sleeping giant and the right coach should be able to turn it around quickly.

Here's a fun one-
Mod on the gators247 site is reporting a juicy rumor that Saban has put out feelers to leave Tuscaloosa. Says it is just a rumor, but that it should be noted Saban has not stayed at any program longer than 5 years, and this is his 5th year @ Bama.

I don't think under normal circumstances Golden would leave after 1 year. The Miami situation with Shapiro may be enough cause though. Now that the NCAA is looking into the Penn St situation as far as institutional control, etc., who knows if he would leave one dumpster fire for another.
