The kid single handedly beat Apopka last night in the spring jamboree. He had 2 touchdowns 2 interceptions, and He finished with 101 yards rushing and six catches for 36 yards.
He also just recently won the state title in the Long Jump. And was a state qualifier in teh 200 meters. Did I mention he was a freshman, who absolutely loves FSU, and will tell anyone who listens that FSU is his dream school. I know the kid personally. He has been part of our Pop Warner program, and I am good friends with his father. I wonder how long is it going to take before I coaches take notice. There were over 20 scouts at the game last night but I don't recall seeing an FSU Shirt.
His natural position is Safety. Seabreeze has another freshman (Trey Rodriguez) who plays RB, and will be a big time recruit as well.
TREASURE COAST HIGH: "TITAN BORN TITAN BRED"
sounds good. I am sure Jimbo and Gran will keep tabs on him. If the kid i already bigtime then he better make sure his grades are in order so he can focus on football his last 2 years
Charles is an A, B type of kid. His father does not play when it comes to grades.
He plays RB when needed but his future is a hard hitting ball hawking safety. And he is being coached by the best in the area.
I wouldn't be shocked to see him end up with multiple years of 8 or more int's. He is that good.
Those Sandcrabs don't be playing around.
How big is he now? And how big is his father to give us some kind of idea about his growth potential..
Here are the highlights from the game, both of Nelson's touchdowns are in it.
Kid looks really fast on his 50+ yard run. Doesn't look that big though, but he is a rising Sophomore.
Spring football: Seabreeze surprises Apopka
Charles is about 5'8 160 lbs right now. But he is just starting to get serious about the weight room. before it was all God given. He has the potential to get up about 190- 195 as a high school kid before he gets to college. His dad is only 5'10 or 5'11 so he won't be a sky scraper. He says he has alot of height on both sides of the family though so who knows. Either way the kid can ball. And wants to be the absolute best.
If we ever offer the kid, I truly believe it's a wrap. Not saying he will commit on the spot publicly, but his recruitment would be all but over. I know thats a year or two away before he receive his big offers.
