Let's be clear about some facts -
SEC teams get about $17-mil per year, and that's about to go up. UF gets $17 mill for SEC plus $10 mil for 3rd tier rights. Total: $27mil.
Big12 just signed for $20-mil a year, and Texas get's double that in $20 mil for Big12 plus $20 mil for espn longhorn network 3rd tier. Total: $40mil
What's FSU getting?
$12.7 million and HOPES that the new contract, commited LONNNNNNNNNG term, will at a whopping 1.5 million for each time, a ceiling of $15 million on the upside.
Total? $12.7 mil and maybe $15mil

Exactly. People don't realize how hard it's going to be for FSU to reach and maintain powerhouse level. They still have their heads stuck in the sand known as "the 90's bro".
Granted FSU has sucked the last decade.. but had the playoffs been in effect the last TEN YEARS... FSU would have gotten a bonus check ONCE while every SEC team got one yearly, as almost did the Big12 teams, yadda yadda.
People, the gap is WIDENING.
You think we're in a budget crisis now.... just wait. "It's about to get real up in here homey"

Big 12 would allow for tier 3 rights as well. Call that HALF of what UF gets........so $5 Million.
That is $25 Million in the Big 12 versus $15 in the ACC.
$100 Million over 10 years.
If FSU can say no to that, they certainly aren't concerned about my small time $1200 donation.
