Canes release post spring depth chart

  • If you ever felt bad about our roster for any reason, take a look at this. UM is going to get absolutely curb stomped this year. They desperately need those incoming freshmen to make any kind of impact. My favorite part of this article is this part:

" HOLLYWOOD -- I'm hanging out at the Westin Diplomat Hotel and Resort today waiting on the BCS to come out of meetings and tell us what their two to three proposed plans to determine college football's nation champion is going to be after the 2013 season (here's a link to today's story).

By then, Al Golden and the Canes might actually be back on their feet and able to make a real push for the title. For now, though, the rebuilding continues."

For the record if your not from Miami, you would know Manny Navaro is the biggest Cane homer in the world. He's basically what would happen if DBC got a job with the Miami Herald.

Canes release final spring depth chart | Eye on the U

  • I still say a good Miami is good for FSU

    BLEdGrntPoopGld

  • That defense is shameful to all former Canes.

Starting LBs average 6'0 220. Two DTs haven't done anything but occupy a blocker a few times in their whole careers. DEs are small and Shayon Green can't go 15 days of contact without getting hurt. Tracy Howard was their best corner when he was a Jr in High school. Then they've got two safeties who even many Canes admit are just Myron Rolle clones. If they are coming down hill they can pop you but if you get them in space a shimmy and a little wiggle and their ACLs about rip from their joints.

And on top of all that, they have NO depth. So that's the report on their starters, once injuries occur....coffee

    fsufsu

  • I only recognize a few names on that list, and a couple of them I recognize because they suck.

    Jadaway

  • Their starters aren't THAT bad...but man will they be in trouble with a few injuries.

Based on what factual evidence? Not your opinion but real fact based evidence. Real evidence suggests FSU is perfectly fine with miami being bad to mediocre. See the the mid 90's when miami was on probation and not very good. FsU played for multiple mnc's and was ranked top 4 every year! Real evidence in the 80's and early 2000's show that a good miami hurts FSU(see all loses to miami that cost us mnc chances.) No evidence exists that FSU is better off with miami being good.

  • a terrible miami is great for FSU though

starters aren't bad. though there's not a single player on that offensive 2-deep that will have to be game planned for. i think Chick is a good player on defense and Perryman showed some things for them last season.

a winning season is a good goal imo and possible if they stay healthy and get some of these guys to play above their heads.

elephant in the room is the sanctions that are still looming. if Golden gets this team to 8 wins then he's coach of the year in the acc and up for national honors as well.

  • why do I feel just like the guys in the movie "Major League", when they released the roster.

Agree. 6-6 likely, 8-4 and Golden is THE man

  • They will have at least 5 true freshmen as starters

    Precisely. Evidence shows that opposite.

  • All we need to do is go ~12-2 this year and we'll start top 5 next year. Then we CAN go undefeated and play for the MNC while beating a 4-8 Miami along the way.

I know that we have a ton of young talent. However, you do not lose all the talent you listed in the "we will sign 30" thread and start top 5.

Especially when, based on the list you gave, we are losing 2 QB's, 3 RB's, 3 OL, 8 DL, 3 lb's, 4db's and a 4 year starting kicker.

we have nowhere earned that yet.

  • I can't wait til my Wildcats go back to Miami. We had them on the ropes for about 2 and a half quarters, and then Lamar Miller and Tommy Streeter happened. Our offense will be more explosive and they dont have Lamar Miller, Fortson and Tommy Streeter. I expect the same as last season realistically, but I am more hopeful of a App State vs Michigan type of game.

Who really knows. ESPN is going to hype the team that signed their #6, #1 and #2 recruiting classes in the last three years, regardless of who is lost the previous year.

    fsukum

  • Does Miami win at BC to start the year? I say yes.

Week two At KSU though is a guaranteed loss. Im with Why Me. That Bethune game week three will be a barn burner.

    fsufsu

  • I don't care if Miami is good, bad or ugly. All I care about is FSU taking care of FSU's business.

The BC game isn't guaranteed, Nothing will be guaranteed for my Hurricanes this yr, even Bethune Cookman

  • Will be a threat in the Coastal in 2014. Who knows after that-it depends on the sanctions.
