His advantage on the OL is almost unfair (and i mean that in a positive way). Most OL's are wired to think like an OL. Here's a guy wired with a defensive mind playing OL so his anticipation and defensive reads will be very effective.
Jimbo is a thinker and he might have nailed it with Cam. If it works out we may see more of this.
Go Noles and good job Cam!!

Cam was awesome in the Spring game. Glauser or Hart won't unseat him IMO so I think he is a 95% bet to win the LT job. If you can block Brandon Jenkins every down(and he did except for one when I believe the pocket was moving left and #4 snuck between Pettis and the next play the TE chipped Bjenk and Cam got caught snoozing and got off balance) you can block any college RDE.
And he gives us a presence in the running game that we haven't seen in a long time.

Agree. Love a defensive linemen's mentality in an offensive lineman ... so long as they are able to learn to restrain some of their instincts. As Cam put it, keep the guns in the holsters longer.
This was a fairly common strategy back in the dynasty years. For example, Tra Thomas was recruited (and started out) on the D-line. Others, off the top of my head, were Jeremy Brett, Char-ron Dorsey, Donald Heaven, Rian Cason and I think Antoine Mirambeau started out on the DL before moving to center.
Miami may have started the trend in the late 80s or early 90s of recruiting DL with the intention of moving some to OL, recruiting DEs to be DTs, linebackers to be DEs, safeties to be LB and so forth. That was when speed was so much more important than size ... and was one of -- if not the -- primary reason for the FSU dynasty run.
When you think back to some of our best players ... they were moved after they got to FSU. Reinard Wilson (LB to DE), Derrick Brooks (S to LB), Greg Spires (LB to DL), Peter Boulware (LB to DE), Julian Pittman (DE to DT), Tyrant Marion (LB to DE), Darnell Docket (DE to DT), Travis Johnson (believe he came in as a DE and was moved to DT).

LOL. Im assuming the pic with Bobby Bowden and not Bobby Hart? I bout crapped myself when he walked past me. First thought was dang he's short but I was more freaked that he gave me the time of day for a shot. Too bad he was looking at Ponder right by us but oh well. It was the night before the Gator Bowl. I get flack for the expression.
