Changes might finally be coming in college football. Chatter says some kind playoff system is near. But polls will always be relevant, and in his Top 25, Dennis Dodd says LSU and USC head into 2012 as the teams to beat.

Don't have a problem w/ that ranking. Until we prove that we can block we should be about 15 or lower

A little surprising but I don't really care where we start. As long as we fill our potential we will finish with a top ranking.
Their comments are accurate despite the ranking:
"The Great FSU Turnaround continues. Penalties are still an issue. The 'Noles have committed 191 in Jimbo Fisher's two seasons (more than seven per game). Quarterback E.J. Manuel has to come through as a game changer. It's getting old writing about FSU's potential. It must deliver -- now."
EJ will come through if our OL improves like I expect it to.

This is how I feel. Honestly until our o-line can go out and block anyone for a couple of games in a row I really don't care to hear about how good we are going to be. This year is put up time or shut up time for Fisher and company. The schedule is going to be a joke this year so anything short of 10 wins would be a severe under acheivement IMO.

He has five sec teams in the top ten. Two of teams USC and uga do not deserve to be that high.

West Virginia is the one team I do not understand why people think they are so good. I mean, I guess I see the reasoning, it just so happens that the reasoning is extremely flawed.
WVU was extremely average all season, they didn't even win the crappy Big East outright. They score 70 in a bowl game that every one watched, and now people think they are a top 10 team. Did people not watch the other 12 games they played last season.
I don't have my own rankings, but if I did, WVU would be closer to 20 than 10.

I did not watch the whole game. I only watched first few minuets and the last five minuets.

Until FSU manges better than a 4 loss season I don't see how anyone can complain. Time to perform on the field.

A team that starts around 15 will go just as high if they go undefeated as a team that starts number 8. Meaning that if teams in the top 5 don't fall, you're screwed either way.
And since we simply can't ask with a straight face, for another top 8 ranking until we've at least won the ACC (and really we would have to win the BCS Bowl we made, too) then 15 or 16, or wherever we start is fine by me.

I hope when all pre-season rankings are complied we are between 13 and 19..and the highest ranked team in the state. We have great potential but we should earn the ranking from our success during the season not pre-season hype.
I'll start drinking the Kool-Aid if it's still fresh and cold the first week of October, maybe last week in September, and not June and July like the previous few years.
