I'm all in for fsu to the big 12. The last straw for me was the garbage the acc brought in this last go around. You can tell fisher is fed up with the acc and its clearly not going to get better. Also, not scared of big 12 teams and think fsu would easily hold its own in all sports. God, I hope this happens and swoffy is left looking like the jackass he is ...
Fsu can't stay in a conference that is almost dead last in money. Also fsu is the one team that most conferences would love to get. We need to ride this for every dime we can get and let swoff and his buddies sweat it out.
I respect your experience and your inside knowledge as a poster, but I am trying to understand why you believe we should ignore the money part of this in reference to not only being in a different conference that will pay alot more and also the added money of being in a conference that will, likely, year in and year out have a participant in the playoff picture> this will thereby be adding even more money to the picture for us. I know you have this believe that the travel costs will skyrocket, but I am not seeing why that is your belief when we have to travel almost the same distances now and will only get worse with Pitt, Cuse, and even ND and another northern school added.
I know you are an ACC guy, living in the heart of Virginia and have alot of ties to the ACC schools, so you must admit to a little bias on that end, but surely you can see some of these convincing arguments being put forth. Instead of giving us little quips of your personal beliefs for this being a bad idea, do you have some relevant factual input from your insider experiences along the ACC to shed some light on why sticking around could be better. You have seen some of my arguments already about the divisions and officiating that need to be changed. Is any of that being considered as well?

Arguments can be made for both sides.
The ACC would have to realign north and south for us to stay. If not then travel will be roughly the same in either conference. Big IX will set up east and west to help eliminate frequent trips to the farther locations. Syracuse and ND would be just as far as any of the Midwest schools.
The only sure fire reason to stay in the ACC is for academics. Even if we rise to prominence again an optimistic guess would be for us to have a record good enough for the playoff every other year. That means every year we dont qualify the ACC loses out on the playoff pool. Yes I said it, if we dont qualify no one else from the ACC will. The rest of the country sees Vtech as choke artists so they will not get ranked high enough to be in the top 4, Clemson will always find a way mess it their shot up, and Miami well who knows what lies ahead for them with sanctions. If this were to hold true it would only take a decade for the ACC schools to have inferior facilities and coaches and become quite frankly irrelevant.
