Good luck to him! How is his recovery coming? My concern with him is how healthy he will be during the combine, his numbers will take a hit. Some NFL team is going to get an absolute steal if he falls too low because of that. I hope that team is the Dolphins, but i have no faith in the management.

Not shocked. Always made the most sense as long as his health would allow him to participate in the NFL Combine and/or pro days.

Selfishly I wish he would come back but with everything that happened this year he needs to go get paid. Hope he can kill it at the draft and get back into a 1st-3rd round draft pick.

Big time. Backing off of Za'Darius Smith has to be related to academics. Or maybe the staff likes that other JUCO end more.
I think we could see more odd fronts and blitzing next year.

Here are my non insider thoughts. Opposing coaches were telling Za'Darius Brandon was coming back which caused him to back off. Jimbo and crew asked Brandon to make the announcement so that they could get back in it with Smith. Just a wild thought...

Seems rationale would really like some insight here bc unless we get Lawson or some monster suprise we really need depth at de w/out bjenk Werner and caradine...ugh wow trust the coaches but that's 3 de , 3 nfl 1st round de man a lot to lose
