As long as human voters go into the mix for a playoff then its not a real playoff anyway. Will it be better than we have, yup. Until it's a conf. champioship playoff it will still be a popularity contest and the SEC will be guaranteed 2 spots if not 3 like this past year. just my opinion.

Then the other conferences should go with out them. They are stuck with the rose bowl let them have it and the rest of the conferences will have a playoff.

Why can't they just gaurantee that if a Big10 and Pac12 team are in the plus 1 then they will play at the Rose Bowl.
Instead of the top 4 in the polls playing how about the winner of each of the Big 6 are seeded due to ranking and play each other until a NC is crowned and keep the rest of the bowl the same

What an absurd statement. I'm sure you believe this is true, but I find it difficult to comprehend how you can. A playoff hasn't ruined college basketball or the NFL's regular season.
In fairness, baseball, hockey, and the NBA's regular seasons are ruined, but by the season length itself, and not the playoffs.

To follow up, please explain as concisely as possible how the regular season will matter any less with either 4 or 8 team playoff. Please consider the fact that all of the top 4 or 8 teams must do very well in the season in order to be so ranked at the end of the year.

I can agree with this. More than 8 would be silly, but I don't think any option on the table involves more than 8. Most are 4 teams.

The B-10 and the Pac-10 are holding the Rose bowl's water, it's the Rose that doesn't want to be shut out. How much money did Oregon have to pay to be in the bowl game? These bowls make 10's of millions and live the life of a superstar. What was exposed at the Fiesta happens in all the bowls, that's why so many teams lose money going to these damn things. If you allow the Rose to wedge themselves in then you allow the Orange, Sugar and the Fiesta to stay in.
