Baseball question

  • Is FSU as good as its ranking/record or is it cause we haven't played anyone yet? Haven't kept up with them much. Thought it was supposed to be a down year so just curious

  • It's hard to tell because like you said, we haven't played anybody.

With that being said, I don't think anybody expected the pitching staff to perform the way that they have so far. Marcus Davis has also been a monster. If the weekend rotation/Weaver can continue to pitch similarly to how they have been, this team can go far. You already know we will score runs, we find a way to every year.

  • FSU is good, but the real test will come when UVA, NC State, GT etc come up because those teams have some live arms.

  • We'll find out how good, or not good we are w hen conference play starts. I'll be cautiously optimistic until then.

  • We all ask this same question every year this time. Bell's worth is definitely rearing its head. The team is good, as always.

  • All we can do is play the team in front of us and so far so good. This is a young team and this is both the schedule and the start we needed to prepare us for a tough ACC. At last check our schedule rank by Boyds was around 179..... It will get much tougher starting this weekend going forward.

  • Very impressed by Marcus Davis and D.J. Stewart as far as newcomers. Josh Delph doing a fairly good job as a leadoff man. Seth Miller putting together a solid stretch of play as well.

Fielding has been fairly good. After a very rough start, Jose Brizuela seems to be getting comfortable on the corner.

Pitching has been very good. Feel comfortable with the top four in the rotation. Coles and Winston a nice closing/set-up combo. Middle relievers starting to emerge.

In general, team has performed well and handled their business. Florida is a decent test mid-week next week (despite their struggles) and then ACC play will heat up in a few weeks.

This is why they pay him the big bucks!! Nice summary, Chris.

  • How has Jameis been doing?

    The Doak

  • He's been pitching well. Hitting began sluggishly, but it is picking up.
