Baseball Recruiting...

  • Alright guys, this has been my "labor of love" for the past week or so. I have compiled a rather extensive list of baseball recruits for the 2013 and 2014 class for us to peruse. There a couple of designations to know:

    (1) The *** designation means that there is documented interest in Florida State
    (2) They are separated by class and state. Since we are so close to Ga., I treated that like in-state on 2013 only, seeing as how that is a much bigger list, and just noted it..
    (3) This list is by no means extensive. It only includes players who were either Perfectgame National showcase participants, Perfectgame Junior National participants, or listed as 1st or 2nd team all area in Florida by one of the major city newspapers.
    (4) This doesn't include current commits in any of the classes. Dowlar has done a good job keeping up with that so you can find that on the "more" tab up top.

    The Alabama State coach is Mervyl Melendez. He was the guy at Bethune Cookman for years, but left last year for Alabama State.

    Just click those links above. It will tell you what position they are playing in HS. Although that usually changes at the college level.

    I can, but keep in mind that most of these guys play multiple positions and typically you'll have alot of HS shortstops that go on to a different position in college. I will take me some time, but I will try and get it done.

    Personally, I am worried its just another easy local "reach" at this point. I am hoping we close like "gangbusters" in 2013 cause right now things appear to be only so so on the ole trail.

    Yep. This class is nothing like last years class. We only have 1 pitcher committed as well confused.

    Pitching was one of the last things we needed. Only guys we lost were Scantling, Busch, and Benincasa....so we only lost Benincasa.

    I'm referencing the 2013 class, not the 2012 class. The 2013 class doesn't arrive on campus for another 1.5 years.
