The Terrapins have won two straight entering the weekend series having beat Virginia in the series finale in Charlottesville last Sunday and then defeating Marist on Tuesday. Maryland is a perfect 9-0 at home this year and is hitting .292 with 48 stolen bases in 58 attempts.
FSU leads the all-time series 64-5 including a mark of 28-2 inside Turtle Smith Stadium. Seminole head coach Mike Martin is 60-5 all-time against the Terps.
Last year, Florida State took 2-of-3 from Maryland in Tallahassee winning games one and two by a combined scoring margin of 19-5 before falling in the series finale 8-5.
FSU had won 40 straight in the series before Maryland won the middle game of the series in College Park in 2011. The loss was only the Noles' second in College Park all-time and first since 1993.
Florida State has won all 21 series against Maryland since joining the ACC in 1992, while FSU's .923 winning percentage over the Terps is the highest among ACC opponents.
At 16-0, the Seminoles are off to their second best start in school history as the school record for wins to start a season is 23 which was set in 2007.
Entering the week, FSU leads the nation in doubles and doubles per game, while ranking in the top 10 in on-base percentage (2nd), base-on-balls (3rd), ERA (5th), scoring (6th), hits allowed/9 (7th), runs (9th) and hit-by-pitches (10th).
Against Maryland, the Seminoles will send out the same starting weekend rotation (Brandon Leibrandt-Scott Sitz-Peter Miller) as they have in each of the first four weekends to start the 2013 campaign.
Friday night's game will air live over the internet on TerpsTV (paid subscription) and is set for 6:30 p.m. Saturday's game is set for 1:30 p.m. and Sunday is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. first pitch.
Fans can listen to all three games live on the All-Access player. Locally, fans can listen to the game on 1270 AM (Friday) and 100.7 FM (Saturday and Sunday).
