This is true, and IMO this is why they don't consistently land great QB prospects, and have issues keeping the ones they do.
As a QB, Bama is not a no brainer, and I would think it takes a very specific type of mindset to play there. Will you get talented support & great exposure? Yes. Will you be allowed to showcase your legs and arm strength? Probably not often.
Personally, I'd go there in a hearbeat as a QB. Play against NFL caliber defenses, learn all you can, and get a ring (or 2). Then, come combine time, do your thing.
