thought the thread was about Senat, Bain and recruiting with or without sanctions, lets keep it on course..... not winning the ACC hasn't hurt recruiting btw.... and sanctions could hurt UM....

  • This kid may not be ranked as high as Jernigan at the end, but his impact could be as great as a true frosh.

He is one explosive bowling ball.

they have to an extent..... you can't blame that on kids you missed out on.... not on Diggs, Goldman, Brown or Brown...... you signed like 30 something..... that is damn good..... also look at USC, it hasn't hurt them.... difference is though USC doesn't comepte with the SEC and ACC all the time, so it will be different for UM.....

Thats the most ridiculous statement ive ever seen.

USC has been one of the best 5 or 10 programs of the last 10 years. Meanwhile, Miami has been pretty freaking bad the last what...7 or 8 years?

under sanctions I believe is what was meant, albeit it is only year 2 or 3 for them and this past year started the scholarship reduction.

Now if he meant last 10 years then I agree, insane comment...

isn't that when USC started probation ?

  • Yes..I cant blame UM fans for comparing Miami to USC...but USC owns the West coast..

Bla bla bla Miami will get hammered.... That's all i hear on this site. Boy this site will be pissed if Miami doesn't get hammered. I feel you guys talk about Miami more than anything else on this site, it's like the ugly girls that always talks about the pretty girls. What are u guys going to do if Miami doesn't get hammered, how would u guys react. Now, I'm not saying the won't but at the same time who knows.

You will get hammered, if not by the NCAA at least by us and 4 or 5 other teams on your schedule

But again, that makes no sense.

I was saying USC was able to recruit because they have been running a very successful program and winning games, while Miami has not. So the probation will hurt their recruiting more than USC's and USC's situation is not a good model to compare to Miami.

Why would we limit the scope of their success to only 2010 and 2011? Clearly the years of success before that is helping USC.

    TNoles813

  • T-Noles.......Central was talking 2010 and 2011.....but IMO you are right...you cant compare USC and Miami..It will be much harder for Miami to get good recruits...

my comparison was more so that both are household names, no matter how we feel as rivals, USC is able to overcome those problems cause they are the school out West.... that is all that I meant by it, and I also stated with where UM is located that sanctions would do more harm to them then to USC, winning or not.... even under sanctions USC is still the big name out there, unlike at UM, same problem would occur at FSU if we were in the trouble UM is in...

its hard just who they have to compete with for recruits, then add sanctions....

that is the only reason I said USC was able to sustain that success despite one bad season.... if they actually had to compete with FSU, UF, Bama, UGA, Auburn, LSU and others well the sanctions would hurt them more but since it is basically Oregon as the biggest competitor well it is easier for them.... winning has helped though for sure

I think everyone is kinda saying the same thing....USC can recruit at a very high level on probation and Miami cannot because Miami has more competition on the East Coast..

    Bmaster35

  • USC has yet to lose scholarships. Lets see how well they are recruiting once the full effect of the scholarship losses kick in.

That and the fact that their resources, facilities, stadium and fan support blow compared to the rest of the south. It's hard to sign a top player after he sees what FSU, UF, Alabama etc. have compared to Miami.

Not solid, but to be honest, any prospect that is still going to take visits to other schools is not solid. I wouldn't be surprised if both Bain and Senat decommitted from FSU and then ended up signing here anyway. That is how long this process is, and these kids get pressured to commit so early it is no wonder they change their minds. Not to mention with 8 different recruiting sites and people takling about them non-stop, they basically feel like super stars that can do whatever they want at the age of 16.

Agree with most of your post except the pressure to commit early. No one is forcing them to commit early. They choose to do that.

FSU will not get burned like it did in the past.....I can promise you that.

  • I read USC will lose 30 scholarships from..2011 to 2013...ten each year... they have lost 20 scholarships in the last 2 years and will lose 10 more in 2013...so they have lost scholarships...if not when do they?
