Bain and Senat

  • I've read recent things in various places (sorry, I don't have a link) that both of them are likely candidates to flip to Miami. Anything to this? How solid are these two?

As solid as any recruit 11 months before signing day, meaning not at all solid.

  • Not solid, but to be honest, any prospect that is still going to take visits to other schools is not solid. I wouldn't be surprised if both Bain and Senat decommitted from FSU and then ended up signing here anyway. That is how long this process is, and these kids get pressured to commit so early it is no wonder they change their minds. Not to mention with 8 different recruiting sites and people takling about them non-stop, they basically feel like super stars that can do whatever they want at the age of 16.

"Some people think football is a matter of life and death, I assure you, it is much more serious than that."

  • Saw those quotes on UM's rivals site from Senat. I am not sure which of the two DT's quotes are more ridiculous, Senat or Bain's. I really hope we hold Senat, I am high on him. Seems like a great player and solid character kid (outside of said comments).

  • I feel like they will probably flip, I don't really care about either of them anyway. We'll see what happens when Miami gets their a$$ handed to them by the NCAA.

What Croz sez. As we have seen in the past, it's not so much where you start, as it is where you end up. We'll lose a few along the way, and pick up a few unexpectedly toward the end of the cycle. There's an entire season for every team still to play, along with attrition, sanctions, punishments and other factors that will influence the final content of recruiting classes. Don't forget, this many commits this early is a relatively new phenomena for our program. Jimbo and his staff have it dialed in.

I know patience is a hard discipline for anyone to master in this day and age of instant gratification and information dispensation, but I'm humbly asking some of you to try.

No, the sanctions are not really affecting them right now because we don't know what they are. When the NCAA finally hands down those sanctions it will be very bad for Miami.

  • Bain still has FSU #1 but wants to enjoy the process...He does not want to feel pressured...That could push him away...

  • what are the senat quotes? i saw what bain said

i am also not concerned about miami. Every SOFLA kids wants to go to Miami until the season starts and they realize how far miami is from even competing in the ACC.

The sanctions will also hurt them a lot. I am more concerned with going against bama or UF then a soon to be sanctioned miami

    mmusi34

  • Both of these kids have great potential. We have a ton of DT depth, however, we lose four this year(Dawk, Amp, JMac and Moses) and then three more the year after(Jern-yes he is a 3 year guy, Cummings and McCalister) so playing time will be wide open in '14.

Come compete with the best young men, if you haven't notices, FSU is developing the best DL in the nation.

he told FSU coaches that "I committed there because that's where my family is living, that FSU is my dream school but I also have a reality school and Miami right now is looking like my reality school."

"My family is in Tallahassee. My dream school is keep my helmet the same, keep the arrow on it. And my reality school is where I'm going to fit in and do my thing and be my best and bring the best out of me. I'm not saying FSU won't bring the best out of me, I'm just saying..."

There are more quotes but that is the gist of it.

they probably showed him a depth chart and added 2 or 3 people like most schools do

I am sure cam erving was on there, they listed dawkins as a RS JR, same with mcdaniel, and showed him he will be 5th string.

Miami really could tell him he will be a lock for 2nd team.

I still think the sanctions and lack of on field product bury Miami

  • I wonder how much of this is a 16 yo kid who has a 5-10 min conversation with a writer who is digging for a juicy quote to boost his website hits. Not much juicer than a commit from rival school. Especially that canes sport guy. These writers with competition out the ass have to be stretching. That much is clear from all the UM homers from this past cycle.

Precisely. It's the same story every year for the Miami recruits. Once they start touring the other facilities, stadiums, see the fan support etc. their tune changes.

Miami's lack of resources is killing them, not Nevin Shapiro. His actions will only compound the problem (when the NCAA ruling comes out).

  • I'll give our coaches a chance to straighten things out before I make any comment on Senat.

If he still wants to flip let him, we don't want depth chart watchers ala Flower.

  • Its just seems to early to start paying any attention to these rumors or out of context reports from different sites. If these kids arent scared of depth charts and competition then they will be a Nole.

This staff has learned from last year and will not be held hostage by any recruit and be caught with our pants down.

If this season plays out the way a lot of us expect it to, it will silence all the bull sh!t.
