BCS rankings Plenty of time for things to change multiple times

  • [b]No. 9 Florida Stateb[b]. Eye test team No.2. Yeah, they play in the horrific ACC. Yeah, they somehow lost to NC State when Jimbo Fisher panicked. But how can you not watch this team and see that if anyone can match up with Alabama on both sides of the ball, it’s Florida State? If anyone can press the Alabama defense and get physical with the Tide offense, it’s the Seminoles. One big problem: FSU likely needs complete chaos to get there.

  • Week 10
#1 Alabama beats the piss out of #5 LSU in La
#2 Kansas St beats Oklahoma St
#4 Oregon beats #17 USC (FSU moves up to #8)

    Week 11
#1 Alabama loses at home to #16 Texas A&M (Bama drops to 5)
    Kansas State wins TCU

    Week 12
    Stanford loses at Oregon
    Kansas State Win Baylor

    Week 13
#1 Kansas State loses to Texas
#2 Notre Dame loses at USC
#3 Oregon loses at Oregon St
#6 Florida loses at #8 FSU
#7 South Carolina loses at Clemson (FSU to #3)

    Week 14
#2 Alabama beats #1Georgia in the SEC championship game.

Bama losing at Texas A&M makes the whole SEC look a little weaker which helps us not get jumped. Kansas State and Oregon have to lose one of several games but I'm not sure which. The best case scenario is that in Week 13, we beat UF, Clemson beats USCe, Oregon loses at Oregon St, Kansas St loses at home to Texas and Notre Dame loses on the road to USC. That would mean five teams in front of us lose and we beat a top ten team leaving Bama and Georgia to play for the SECCG and us playing the winner. With the computers there is no guarantee with anything haha. But crazier stuff has happened but I don't see us playing in the NC.

  • I don't think it's even that complicated...USC and Bama just need to win out. If USC doesn't win out, Oregon needs to lose to either Oregon State or in the Pac12 CG.

K State needs to drop one of their last 4 - all of which are losable games (Ok State, TCU, Baylor, Texas). I think that gets us in, or damn close to it.

We need to win out, and do so convincingly, starting next Thursday night.

  • I can see us getting ranked behind a 1 loss Oregon or K State though

  • Losing late used to hurt bad in the BCS. Losing early should help FSU if one of the top 3 lose in the final week or 2 of the regular season.

Depends on what UF is ranked when we beat them and what Clemson ends up ranked.

This. If clemson can win out that will be huge for us. If florida wins out til we play them, we would have to win decisively. Both are possible, but we need mass chaos to happen in front of us. Here's to hoping tho cheers

  • Every year, right around this time, there is the throng of undefeated teams at the top of the BCS and talk of who will get left out. Aside from Auburn a few years back, it has never happened. If FSU keeps winning, they will be back in the hunt soon enough, it might not be enough, but it very well could be.

  • There is already a 2 loss team ahead of us. The best chance for us to get to #2 is in next year's pre season rankings.
