That move is HUGE... The kid was OUTSTANDING as a Frosh... He was the only Guard for Duke who could create his own shot and get to the rim... Coach "K" will miss him...

Agree with all of this, and as duval said, the kid doesn't need the money. I'm a little surprised, and - regardless of how successful he is at the next level - I think one day he'll look back and wish he had another year to live the college experience

I thought he could have used an extra year of seasoning at Duke with Coach K. He's electric one moment and the next made silly freshman mistakes. But tough to pass up the chance if you're going to be a first-round pick.

No offense, but how is anyone surprised this cocky jerk is taking his game to the NBA after 1 yr @ Duke. Of course, he could've used more seasoning, especially under the guidance of Coach K, as well as the chance to continue a wonderful education. However, this kid was thinking about the Association the second he arrived in Durham. It absolutely helps FSU in 2012-13.

Helps FSU out a TON next year... UNC loses their entire frontline and Duke lose Rivers (not sure who else) - the ACC might be WIDE open again next year...

Duke could also lose Mason Pumlee:
“He met with the (Duke) coaches, and they have a process,” Plumlee’s mother, Leslie Plumlee, told the Herald-Sun of Durham, N.C. “Anything he does is with the blessing of the coaches. It won’t be a surprise one way or another.”

Now Duke has absolutely no one that can get the ball to the rim. They will have to revert back to their old ways of chucking up 100 three point shots per game.

They could be losing both Plumlees to, because one is a senior and thye other is a Junior while their brother will be a redshirt Frosh next year.

If Leslie sticks around, NC State will be preseason #1 in ACC. They only lose CJ Williams and the backup JC guard. Their incoming recruiting class is loaded.

Looked like he could use another year with coach K. Surprised his dad allowed this. Why bother going to a good program and coach if you aren't going to take advantage. He played really immaturely every time I saw him. Talent, yes, but it takes more to make it in the long run.

Blessing for dook, Rivers had too much me and not enough "team"!!!!
I bet K is probably doing flips, he didn't buy into the "team" element...
Dook has a pretty good guard coming in Rasheed Sulaimon, he will be a good one.
