I think Grobe might be the best of the bunch at this point. Johnson hasn't done anything to me, so why is he up there? Golden, that's just crazy talk at this point. Beamer should be up there, but more about transitions at other programs. Dabo, as much as I make fun of him, has an ACC championship to his name and should be higher.

As for Grobe being number one, please consider the following. He has not had a four star athlete sign in the years he has been at Wake. For that matter, the vast majority of players that have signed with Wake have been two star players. He certainly doesn't have the success that others in the conference enjoys in recruiting, but it is hard to deny that his staff has put together some very good Xs and Os on the offensive side. Although Jim Grobe's overall record is just one game below five hundred, his teams have been extremely competitive.
One of the criteria was off-the-field issues. When was the last time any of us heard about Wake having these any sort of off-the-field issue? And Grobe has won a conference championship with, as stated, primarily two star athletes. One coach above Grobe on that list had a conference title stripped because of issues off the field.
Golden and London obviously are three and four based on results outside of ACC competition. Based on results within the conference, neither has a winning record. Jimbo's supporters could make an argument that he should be ranked above them.
One could make the argument based on recent results that Frank should stay at the top followed by Grobe, Dabo and Jimbo. JMO

Unfortunately, you have to put Dabo ahead of Fisher because of the ACC crown. Beamer is #1 hands down and has owned the ACC for a while. Johnson won the ACC at GT so he is up there. London beat Fisher at home in a very embarrassing way with less talent so I put Jimbo at #6 right now. I sure hope this changes soon but based on results you have to go this way IMO.
1 Beamer 2 Grobe 3 Johnson 4 Dabo 5 London 6 Jimbo 7 Golden 8 Cutcliff 9 Obrien 10 Spaz 11 Edsall 12 Fedora

What we don't know is what Athlon is basing their statement on. Is it metrics, polling, internal vote? To say he's 5th is a smack. I think he's definately 3rd, if not second to Beamer but I could prove my case to say he's a tie with Beamer. If Jimbo can fix our inconsistency (which I believe he can), he'll be regarded as one of the best ACC Coaches.
