Are you a booster?

Good luck with the search. FYI, recent grads get booster levels at half price.

Even though I'm not FSU grad? The wife is which is why we started the conversation. And it wouldn't really matter, as we could be hurting for money that much, just curious is all.

  • OH>>>>>> let me add one more tip.

Some companies have some type of matching or partial match of charitable contributions....if yours does....you can double or at least increase your contribution.

  • Booster here. I might donate a little bit more through Laura next month though.

I gave my extra cash this month to the ASPCA...damn commercials get me every time.

  • does "ticket rep" = primary booster contact?

Jamie has always been my "friend on the inside", but I've always gotten the impression that he works with the ticket office and not for or within the ticket office. I'm 99.99% sure he works for the boosters, which seems to be separate from the ticket office.

which sparks a side note thought: I've spoken with amazingly friendly people in the ticket office, boosters, and alumni office. I've enjoyed speaking with each one, but rarely do they seem to be on the same page. I really wish we could get that figured out. They're all great individually, but getting mixed messages always leaves me a little queasy.

  • jay you need to find out who your booster rep is in your area....that should be your main contact.....what city are you in and I can find out for you if I dont know already.

  • I'm pretty sure Joel Padget is my official booster rep. I live in Manhattan (NYC). I met up with Joel last time he was in town. Amazingly nice guy. I really enjoyed talking to him. He made me want to give more without ever asking me for anything. Just inspired me with his passion for FSU and his job. Also gave me great advice on non-FSU topics. Top-notch guy.

But, Jamie Warren is a really great friend. We keep in touch through-out the year, our wives are friends, etc. I consider him to be a friend who works for FSU, not someone who works for FSU who's also friendly. So, he'll always be "my guy" at the booster office.

I'm definitely lucky to know both Jamie and Joel.

The same is true of the ticket office though. One guy sat on the phone with me the first year I was getting season tickets and explained every detail of priority points and how I could get the best seats. He must have spent 30 minutes going over options. I have no idea what his name was, but he was fantastic. Likewise, my wife called a few days ago and paid for our extra OU tickets and spoke with a guy who couldn't have been more friendly.

Both places have amazing people working there. They make me proud to be a Seminole.

  • Jay, I go to jamie for everything, at least until I get more familiar with things as an ambassador. He is with the boosters but they are very close to the ticket folks.

  • I'm not a graduate of FSU, but I'm a booster, alumni association life member and season ticket holder. I became a FSU fan when I relocated from Germany to Florida while serving in the Air Force in 1989, but I didn't become a financial supporter until 6 years ago albeit an occasional home game. I'm originally from Georgia and still like the Yellow Jackets very much, but FSU captured my heart. Now is the time to become a season ticket holder and booster because reasonably priced tickets are still available. Just imagine how hard it will be to get tickets to a home game when FSU starts winning conference and national championships. Support you team and let's take back Doak!

  • I am an Iron Arrow...became a booster after the Oklahoma game last year to show how much faith that i have in Jimbo and the University as a whole. Looking to upgrade my booster status as I continue to pay off my student loans. Next vehicle i purchase (in the next 6 months) will be getting a Nole license plate as well. Love my school and its the least i can do

I know I've talked with the wife about it, as we would love to do at least lower level boster, but with me graduating in August(thus losing the GI BIll, and having to start paying off private student loans immediately), we can't do it. Hopefully the job hunt won't go too long, but after looking for 3 hours last night(and falling deep into a depression), I think that fear will be realized.

I'd like to reiterate that the lowest level is only $60. It's $30 if you are graduating from FSU.

  • Golden Chief, season ticket holder, and tags on both vehicles here.

Something to consider, especially for new graduates - even with money being extremely tight, the lowest donor levels (with or without the recent grad discount) are not a huge burden. Find a way to make the donation, and from that point on see where it goes. Delaying and saying wait till next year often leads to a continued trend.

We all understand times have been rough, but if you can fit it into your priorities, please try.

  • I can tell you that my Booster Rep is Eric Carr. I was originally with Jamie, however Eric is the Booster Rep for my area (Tampa Bay). I really enjoy dealing with him and if anyone would like his contact information I will be happy to oblige.

I can't express how great Jamnolfin (aka Jamie) is. He's helped me out with tickets, hotel rooms, tailgating, and everything else that makes FSU football the best. If you need anything, you should contact him (or Laura).
